Bart signs for southend

Southend boss Steve Tilson has secured the services of Dutch goalkeeper Bart Griemink.

The 32-year-old was released by Swindon at the end of the season but has now signed a two-year deal with the Shrimpers.

"Bart will be a good signing for us, he comes with high recommendations from various contacts," Tilson told the club's official website.

"He's played over 250 matches at clubs like Birmingham, Peterborough and Swindon so he knows this circuit well. He dominates his penalty box which is something we have lacked and he's good in the air. Bart has a good set of hands on him and he'll be a great addition to the squad."

Griemink added: "I'm very happy to have signed for the club. I've been looking forward to coming in for the last few weeks now and it's good to have finally got everything sorted."
