Default Lampard to Inter?

Quote:
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge until he hangs up his boots.
The 29-year-old has only 18 months to run on his current contract and talks over a new deal have been put on hold.
But Lampard told the London Evening Standard newspaper: "I want to stay at this club for the rest of my career.
"I do not think I would receive the love I get from the Chelsea fans anywhere else. I would love another six or seven years of it."
The England midfielder, who has scored 99 goals for Chelsea, added: "On a scale of one to 10, Chelsea is a 10 for me in terms of importance.
"Everyone around me knows how much Chelsea means to me. In my life my family comes first but Chelsea comes second.

"I'm at a club I love and living in an area I love."
Lampard also insisted that the only reason he is not currently discussing a new contract now is because he does not want to be distracted from helping his club's challenge for honours.
"Nothing has changed since the club and I decided that we wouldn't talk until the end of the season," he said.
"But I don't want the fans to think there is anything sinister about it because I'm desperate to get it done.
"I see that Peter Osgood is on 150 goals for the club and I'd love to get to that level. "I think I will carry on playing until I am around 35. I like to think I'm pretty fit and don't rely on pace to get me through a game. Plus I will keep improving the more experience I get."

This is very nice to hear but until he puts pen to paper I will always fear that he might go wherever Jose goes next.

*Bump*

What I don't get is why do I keep hearing the Chelsea boardroom say they will do anything to keep Lampard yet he still hasn't signed...seriously he is one of Chelsea's most important player, he always performs each season and along with Terry he is the heart of Chelsea. If he wants higher wages why not give them to him? He deserves them... I mean we pay Sheva about £ 121,000 a week why not Lamaprd who actually deserves it??

It's probably not about money, he's probably already getting more than £100k per week so I doubt that'd bother him much.

I'd expect he's just trying to weigh up whether he wants a new challenge or not, especially given his relationship with Mourinho and his (probable) landing at one of Lampard's reported suitors.

Apparently he has been offered a new contract and really thinking about it especially because of the way that we reacted to his mom's death...

Quote:
After being rested from travelling to Trinidad and Tobago for the tiring and, in our opinion, total waste of time international, rumours are starting to emerge about Frank`s new contract details.

With Jose Mourinho lurking menacingly in the wings, one leading tabloid has suggested that Chelsea are prepared to offer Frank a three year contract worth £130,000 a week.

The deal would, if the figures quoted are correct, put Frank on a par with club captain John Terry. However, the three year deal wouldn`t match the current length of Terry`s contract.

The tabloid also goes on to report that Frank is giving the offer serious consideration citing the fact that the way he was treated by the club, after the sad and untimely death of his mother, is swaying him towards staying.

Now we here at Vital Chelsea have two points to make.

The first relates to Frank staying. Surely, this should be a done and dusted proposition. Frank has always intimated that Chelsea is his club, that the fans are his people and that he wanted to finish his career in a blue shirt.

The second relates to the salary. If Frank considers £130,000 a week to be insufficient reward for his skills then I really do fear for the future of football! Things really are out of control.

If in doubt Frank, simply ask yourself it`d take, in years, those who shout and scream Chelsea on every week to earn such a salary?

Years, is the answer, years!

source: Chelsea - Frank`s New Contract Offer!

Hopefully he signs soon...will be a big boost.

I don't want Deco. Lampard is better he is one of the backbones of Chelsea and it won't be the same with out him. Deco is past his prime and should be one to go to Inter not Lampard.

Honestly we fought off the Barca rumours we can get rid of the Inter rumours as well...

And why did Capello get involved and say it would be gd idea if Lampard moved to italy...

Lampard heads Inter target list

Quote:
Lampard postponed negotiations over a new deal until the end of the season

Italian champions Inter Milan have revealed that signing Chelsea's Frank Lampard is their priority this summer.

New Inter manager Jose Mourinho is keen to capture the England midfielder from his former club, with whom Lampard has yet to sign a new contract extension.

Inter president Massimo Moratti told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport: "He's our number one objective. Mourinho likes Lampard a lot."

Moratti hinted Inter may have already started negotiations with the Blues.

He added: "Has there been contact with Chelsea? I think there has but I don't know yet."

No smiling this is not a smiling matter.

Like I have said before Deco is a great player but Chelsea would not be the same with out him. I fear tho we will lose him because Deco wants to play under Scolari again...

I don't know what to say...if he wants to leave I will be absolutely gutted but hopefully then Mikel will have his chance to sign with Deco as a replacement role.

Except everything is in Lampard's court, since he can buy out his contract if he wants to leave enough & Chelsea are unwilling to sell.

I think this depends on who Scolari brings in. If its Deco, then we're going to have Ballack, Lampard, Deco, Essien, Mikel and Makelele. Someone would have to go, and Lampard might be that one.

If we were to sell Lampard which I would never do...I would rather not buy Deco and I would buy Van der Vaart and make sure that Mikel plays at dm for nearly all the matches. And play Makelele in the big important games.

So something like this:

Essien.............VdV/Ballack
..........Mikel/Makelele........

Dont worry peeps...like i said before,Lamps will stay.I rekn this whole deco to chelsea thing is just that the club have lined up a possible replacement INCASE lamps chose not to stay. The club has to do this in every transfer whether it be like this situation, or for example when your no. 1 target player(or manager) chooses not to come,so you have to turn to a backup. It takes quite a while to sort any transfer so the club has to have 2 or 3 possibles on the boil or you could end up with nothing.
Im convinced Frank does not want to leave, and wont

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba are two of his top three transfer targets.

The new Internazionale boss knows the duo well from his time at Chelsea and is now keen to bring them to Serie A.

Inter have already stated that landing England midfielder Lampard is their No.1 ambition this summer, with Mourinho also looking to bring in striker Drogba and Barcelona playmaker Deco.

Lampard and Drogba were instrumental in Chelsea securing back-to-back Premier League titles under the Portuguese coach, with Deco enjoying UEFA Champions League glory during their time together at Porto.

Barca have admitted that Deco is now surplus to requirements at Camp Nou, but Chelsea are unlikely to be willing to allow two of their star men to leave Stamford Bridge as they look to the future under new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Cannot forget

Mourinho said: "I am not nostalgic but I really like those three players, they helped me win some great titles.

"I cannot forget Deco, Lampard and Drogba.

"These are players who I could never say no to. I would love to work with them again in future, but I am not too obsessed with this idea.

"I don't know which of the three will leave their clubs but we'll see."

Well apparently the ball is now in Chelsea's court.

Lampard wants a 3-4 year contract and we only seem to be giving him a 1-2 year one. He has just comeback from holidays and so talks will start up again. He wants to stay but it is what Chelsea do now which will determine whether we see him next season in Chelsea blue.

I don't want to be like Arsenal who doesn't give proper contracts to their 30+ players. Lampard deserves it and he is one of our fittest players and we gave Ballack when he was 29 a 3 year contract with a chance of a 1 year extension why not do the same with Lampard??

The board better not screw this up...

also Lampard will have a talk with Scolari when gets back from the Euro's.
