Lampard Seal Inter Deal - Report
Sports source "France Football" claims that Frank Lampard's move from Chelsea to Internazionale is signed, sealed and delivered. The England international midfielder has apparently reunited with coach José Mourinho at the San Siro in a deal worth €9m...
Quote:
The French paper says Lampard has signed a four-year contract with the Nerazzurri after a total of seven seasons of play at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard has been linked with a move to Inter Milan for several weeks now, following the appointment of Mourinho as the new boss of the Italian champions.
Mourinho has been relishing the prospect of reuniting with the England international, having coached him during his time at the helm of Chelsea.
France Football suggests that Lampard will be rewarded with an annual salary of 7.3 million euros at the Giuseppe Meazza.
The London-based club are now on the lookout for a creative midfielder to replace Lampard, with reports suggesting Luiz Felipe Scolari to have found his man under the form of Deco, who is on the transfer list at Barcelona.

I refuse to believe it until I hear Frankie come out and say that he has signed for them.

If this is true, I'll be dumb founded. Lampard is the type of player that quicklly adds credibility to your side, however I will wait for official confirmation.

This will be a major blow for Chelsea if this is true. As Dellas said earlier, he is the heart of Chelsea along with Terry.
A big gap to fill if he leaves.

He is in Italy, the signings are a mere formality apparently.
I'm still in a bit of shock to be honest.

well that is that I guess. When I hear the one word "official" I am going to go mental on Buck, Kenyon and the rest of the Chelsea board. WTF are they thinking he wanted to stay so give him the 4 year contract I'm sure he is fit enough to cope. But no they decided to act like Arsenal and they knew that he liked Mourinho so they basically pushed him away....sons of b****es...

I don't know all the ins or outs of your situation, but Lampard could of made up his mind when JM decided to quit. They could also wanted to change your formation up, meaning bringing in new faces, which Lampard doesn't fit in.

The thing is Lampard wanted a 4 year contract but the Chelsea board didn't want to give him one as they weren't sure if as a 30 year old he would be able to cope. So effectively they pushed him closer to the exit. Seeing as he was close to Jose he found his chance to go to a club and leave Chelsea. If jose was still out of work I'm nearly 100% sure Lampard would stay. For me I think Chelsea was important that Jose to Lampard but when Chelsea turned their back on him he chose to go to Jose.
Also when you know that Lampard will be your top midfield scorer and in your top 3 goal scorers in every season, any formation will be built around him. The bottom line is if he leaves it is because the Chelsea board refused his demands for a longer contract.

Considering the links with Deco I don't think Chelsea would be changing their style even if they lost Lampard.
Maybe this is Lampard's decision though, perhaps other than the Mourinho factor he also thinks it'd help his England career if he played in Italy.

Exactly.
But surely being a starter for Chelsea or Inter won't change Capello's mind? If he is gd enough he will start for the NT.

I don't know about his international career, but I think he made of done enough in Chelsea, and wants to leave on a high??
Believe it or not, I can sort of understand the reluctance not to sign him for four years. That is the club's right.
And I understand that Inter is not Real Madrid, but there could be the fact that playing in Italy, and trying something knew with a good friend(JM) is something that is appealing to him. If he succeeds, he could have god like status amongst the tifosi of Inter.
Living Milan is also an experience, and he seems to have the money, so I'm sure he is living in the "nice" part, if you know what I mean....beautiful big city as they come.
