Scolari claims Chelsea interest
Quote:
Chelsea are interested in appointing Luiz Felipe Scolari as manager, according to the Portugal coach's spokesman.
Speculation about who will be in charge at Chelsea next season has not died down since the end of the season, with rumours persisting that Jose Mourinho will be replaced.
Scolari has now been contacted by Chelsea officials about the possibility of taking the reins at Stamford Bridge and is said to be flattered by the approach.
But spokesman Acaz Fellegger claims Scolari is committed to Portugal and has no plans to leave his current post until after Euro 2008.
"This is the time of the year when a lot of people make inquiries and Felipe has received a few," Fellegger told The Sun.
"It's flattering to know a club like Chelsea is interested.
"But Felip has a contract, he is committed to his job with Portugal and he wants to take them to Euro 2008.
"At the moment, that is the situation."
Mourinho, currently on a charity trip in Ghana, failed to lead Chelsea to the Premiership title this season for the first time in his three years at the club.
But he insists he has more responsibility than simply winning silverware.
"Chelsea are going in the right direction but to be a big club you don't just need trophies and cups," he explained.
"You need also to do very important things like this project, Right To Play.
"It's very important for the countries where we go and for the kids, we give some happiness."

interesting never though scolari would be connected with Chelsea. When and if Mourinho leaves he would be a great replacement.

Maybe a double-switch, Mourinho to Portugal and Scolari to Chelsea.

I'd prefer mourinho stayed until the end of his contract then Mourinho leaves or extends his contract, but that wouldn't be a bad idea (wouldn't do it now tho).
