Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has added to the current 'tapping-up' furore by claiming Lyon spoke to him illegally in the summer.

The Ivory Coast international was the subject of intense transfer speculation in the close season, as the arrival of Andrei Shevchenko cast serious doubts over his future at Stamford Bridge.

As it transpired, Hernan Crespo proved to be the striker shown the Stamford Bridge exit door in joining Internazionale, but seemingly not before Lyon declared interest in Drogba.

The powerful front man claims the French champions were in regular contact with him, in allegations that are unlikely to sit well with officials at the West London club.

"I am often on the phone with the president's (Jean-Michel Aulas) advisor, Bernard Lacombe," Drobga is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"He asks me how it's going at Chelsea, and if one day I would be interested in coming back to France.

"It would have been very interesting, but the reality was that I had another two years with Chelsea.

"And I like to honour my contracts. I am flattered by the remarks of Mr Aulas, as Lyon are respected more and more in Europe."

stuff i dont want to see any more or even bortherd with, but tbh this to me just looks like Drogba has fucked up with what he isaying to what he is meaning to say. probely nothing in it atall.

Erm in my opinion I guess that that is exactly what 99% of these socalled "tap-ups" are!

Players talk to other players, managers, chairmen etc. just because friends talk to each other on the phone and most definetely mention stuff like, why don't you join us next season etc...

I don't think that should be illegal, not even if a chariman goes to dinner with a player it seems a bit childish.

How good is Drogba becoming by the way ?
