Drenthe is a winger, not a left back. He's not good enough for us either.
We were interested in Castillo this time last year and were expected to buy him in January this year. Ultimately we weren't convinced and never made a bid. I see no reason why that would change now, even if Robben was sold.
Nobody can replace Maka for what he means to the team.

Clubs often feel a player is irreplacable. A replacement for Makalele will be found.

Why sign Drenthe when Chelsea got new signing Malouda?I don't think Drenthe have ambitions to be a squad player and neither do Malouda.

I don't see anyone on the market right now. Makalele's ability was one that came with maturity and experience. He's worth just as much to us as a person as he is a player. You can't find another Maka, you have to evolve or move on....I think Mikel is the way forward in that instance.

Chelsea to double Daniel Alves wages
Quote:
Chelsea are ready to launch a mega offer for Sevilla wing-back Daniel Alves.
With Real Madrid in talks over the double signing of Michael Ballack and Arjen Robben, Chelsea will use the cash raised to bid for Brazilian Dani Alves.
The 24-year-old said: "You have to make the most of your opportunities - a footballer's career is very short. I would like that if an offer came in for me."
Chelsea are believed to be prepared to more than double Alves £35,000-a-week Sevilla wages.

Chelsea step closer to Drenthe deal
Quote:
Chelsea are a step closer to landing Feyenoord wing-back Royston Drenthe.
De Telegraaf says Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk is pressing his board to accept Chelsea's last offer - believed to be in the region of £8.5 million - for Drenthe as he wants funds to add to his squad.
Chelsea have a clear run at Drenthe after Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admitted yesterday that their interest in the midfielder was over.

Royston Drenthe is ready to take Feyenoord to the court of arbitration to secure himself a move to Real Madrid.
Reports emanating from Holland claim the Dutch Under 21 international has enlisted the help of lawyer Harro Knijff to try and win a move to Real.
Real are leading the chase to sign the exciting winger with Chelsea and Barcelona also credited with an interest in Drenthe.
Knijff, who supported Ronald and Frank de Boer when they had a similar case against Ajax in 1998, has revealed he is preparing an arbitration case for Drenthe.
"I can confirm that I am busy preparing the request for an arbitration case," Knijff told Sportweek magazine.
Feyenoord do not want to lose their prize asset and the club's general manager Peter Vogelzang has expressed his disappointment at Drenthe's stance.
Regret
"We regret that things are turning towards this," Vogelzang told the club's official website.
"We have made our standpoint public a few times already and nothing has changed in that: Feyenoord doesn't want to see Royston Drenthe go to another club.
"Our intention is to keep him at the club for at least one more year and if possible longer. We did not extend and renew his contract in April until the summer of 2011 for nothing.

After finalising the presentation of Sevilla´s new acquisition, Aquivaldo Mosquera, Sevilla´s President, José María del Nido spoke about the situation with Daniel Alves.
"Sevilla FC has rejected two offers made for Daniel Alves, one of 35 million euros and the other of 31.5 million euros. Alves has asked me to think seriously about any offer made for him, and I have honoured this promise, listening and valorising and deciding to reject the two offers. We have no complaints with Daniel, he is a magnificent defender who plays his heart out every time he steps onto the pitch for Sevilla. He has been one our greatest ever players and the policy of this club will not change. If we receive a huge offer for Daniel then he will leave and if not he will stay. I believe that Daniel does not have any problems with this, and will be happy to honour the rest of his contract".

Its 95 % for sure Chelsea. They've been linked with him for almost a year now and they've the capital to give a bid like this.
I don't think its Madrid because of Sergio Ramos and Cicinho.
Liverpool have also showed interest for him, but Its the Blues I guess.

It aint bad waking up to reports of Chelsea wanting to buy Ronaldinho, even if it might be so 2003/4.

Not happening... I heard his brother say sometime last month that Milan had had a £50mil bid rejected... we're not paying that money and anyway how would he fit into our team?
It would be quite fun though

His brother is a ****.
Not sure Ronaldinho is Jose's idea of what a footballer should be (lazy, doesn't train, doesn't run).
Ronaldinho could be the end of your dressing room harmony. Sheva and Ballack nearly ripped it apart, you seen what Ronaldinho has done at Barca can you imagine what JT and Lamps would make of a better player getting twice what they earn.
