AC Milan are closing in on a £18m swoop for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba but have been told his Blues team-mate Andriy Shevchenko is not for sale.

But the Blues are holding out for £30m for Drogba and could use him as a makeweight in their bid to sign Milan midfielder Kaka or snare boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is in Italy but it is unclear whether he is brokering a deal for Drogba or trying to lure Kaka and Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea hope to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o for £22m but face a battle with former boss Jose Mourinho, who wants him at Inter Milan.

Bayern Munich have told Chelsea they will have to pay £31m to sign France midfielder Franck Ribery.

It's a typically busy summer at Stamford Bridge with the club's board being told to sell striker Didier Drogba by new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Scolari also wants to offer Florent Malouda to Barcelona as part of a deal to sign striker Samuel Eto'o from the Nou Camp outfit.

Man City Eye Ben-Haim

Manchester City are reportedly set to sign Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim as manager Mark Hughes continues to build his new team at Eastlands.

Ben Haim, 26, joined Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers in June 2007 as back up to John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho. Despite featuring prominently at the start of his Chelsea career the Israeli slipped down the pecking order after the arrival of Brazilian Alex.

With Terry and Carvalho back to full fitness after missing early parts of the season, Ben Haim found his chances at Stamford Bridge severely limited and the centre back made only two league starts for Chelsea in 2008, prompting him to look elsewhere for first team football.

Reports in some part of the press have also suggested that the defender fell out with former manager Avram Grant and despite his compatriot having left the club it appears Ben Haim will now follow.

Manchester City are reportedly willing to offer Chelsea £5 million for the Israeli international, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer, as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Should he sign for City, Ben Haim may partner Richard Dunne in the heart of the City defence after the captain signed a new deal with the club this summer, despite speculation linking him with a move away from Manchester.

Mark Hughes is enjoying a busy summer in the transfer market since replacing Sven Goran Eriksson as City boss. He has already signed Brazilian Jo from CSKA Moscow as he looks to build on City's ninth place league finish last season.

Lamps Leaving It Until January?

The Frank Lampard saga has taken yet another twist, as News of the World claims the Chelsea midfielder will wait until January before sealing his exit from the club…

Internazionale’s advances for the England international over the past few weeks have thus far come to nought, as the Blues are unwilling to sell one of their fan favourites.

The Nerazzurri have had their most recent bid of ₤7.95million rejected and may have to pay ₤10million or higher if they are to prise the 30-year-old away from west London this summer.

But the Italian champions may not be too worried if they cannot reach an agreement before the end of August, as the English press is reporting that Lampard is intent on leaving and will sign for the Milan club as soon as the transfer window reopens mid-winter.

The former West Ham man is in the final year of his contract and has been unable to come to any sort of consensus with the Blues regarding a new deal, having reportedly rejected a four-year ₤140,000-per-week offer.

Thus, entering the final year of his contract, Lampard is free to talk to suitors without his club’s permission, and as of January 1 will have the opportunity to pen a pre-contract before making the switch in the summer. He will supposedly move to San Siro on a ₤160,000-per-week deal.

This would see the London native reunite with Inter boss Jose Mourinho by way of a free transfer – an outcome which would surely enrage Blues owner Roman Abramovich, who ushered the ex-Porto coach out of Stamford Bridge in September after a colossal falling out.

If he wants to go, I would like to go this summer. I can't wait 6 months to see if he's staying or not.

Anyway... maybe Deco could be his Replacement. Deco, Ballack, Joey and Essien, would be a great 4 in the midfield .

Frank Lampard will sign a pre-contract agreement with Inter Milan on 1 January in a deal worth £160,000-a-week. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to lose £16m to keep Lampard at Stamford Bridge next season. The Blues will lose out on a £10m transfer fee and will pay his £6.1m-a-year wages.

Same transfer rumours about Frank, I've given up trying to read into them...I'm just waiting for something to be made official.

But the Italian side have not given up hope of securing Lampard's signature before the start of the new season and have offered Brazilian striker Adriano in a part exchange deal worth £15m.

I have always been a big fan of Adriano and I would quite like to see him at Chelsea, I think that playing with Scolari would be gd idea, tho I cannot remember if they were in the Brazilian NT at the same time.

Portsmouth are hoping to complete a £10m deal for Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.

I would never have expected him to leave for so much after his erratic seasons atChelsea I would have taken anything above 5 mill without hesitation. He is a gd player but he never got into his stride at Chelsea, even tho imo he was given enough chances.

City are also close to agreeing a £5m deal to sign Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim.

Well being 4th choice was never going to satisfy him and seeing as he was never going to break into the first team I think that deal is very generous but hey I'm not complaining.

But Lampard appears to be on his way to Inter Milan after the Italian side revealed they have agreed terms with the England midfielder.

No one wants Lampard to leave Chelsea but alas I fear he will leave shortly.

Didier Drogba also appears to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after Barcelona made an enquiry for the striker.

Too much + I would rather robinho, as we need a winger better than Malouda and SWP.

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is hoping he can persuade Chelsea to let midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips join the south-coast club on a season-long loan deal.

Wouldn't be surprised if he still leaves, Redknapp is still looking for for one more player. SWP needs a change of scenery imo.

Robinho's move to Chelsea is in severe doubt after Real Madrid angrily hit out at the Stamford Bridge club's transfer tactics, despite the 24-year-old reiterating his desire to join the Blues. (Various)

Well it seems that the deal isn't going to go through even tho Mijatovic is getting involved and saying do it. I haven't given up hope completely but it does look in severe doubt.

But Real's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has urged president Ramon Calderon to sell the Brazilian as he believes they can cope without him until the January transfer window. (Daily Express)

Ever since Drogba got reinjured we have been linked with one or 2 strikers but I cannot see us going for either of them as I think Anelka is starting to improve..

We where linked to Lui Fabiano but I'm not sure I would want him, he is a proven goal scorer in Spain but he isn't getting any younger.

Also linked with Lavezzi, of Napoli, but he said this Lavezzi wants Napoli stay

So I don't think we will be going for any other striker atm.
