Chelsea have accepted that Didier Drogba will now be leaving Chelsea and wants a move Barcelona. The Ivory Coast star has often spoken about leaving Chelsea but, after his latest outburst, his intentions to join the Catalan club could not be clearer. Chelsea will not let him go there however, unless they get eith Lionel Messi of Kaka in exchange.


Speaking in n a recent interview with a French newspaper, the Chelsea hit man said: "Any striker in my situation would be really happy to get the chance to play alongside Samuel Eto'o."

He went on: "I don't see why it should not happen. It would be something exceptional but Barcelona need to get their chequebook out."


His openness in talking to the media is said to have upset officials at Chelsea who, after bending over backwards to accommodate the player, now feel although he is letting them down every time he speaks to journalists.


Now though, if the player wants a move to the Camp Nou, it will be costly for Barcelona. Chelsea have demanded that the Catalan club exchange either the Argentinean midfielder (Messi) or the Brazilian striker (Kaka) in exchange.


Having signed Nicolas Anelka from Bolton earlier this month, the pressure is temporarily off for Chelsea as far as their strike force is concerned. Although they are seeking another forward, Anelka's signing will fill the immediate void.

Drogba, alongside fellow Ivorian Salomon Kalou are currently readying themselves for international duty in the African Cup of Nations. Other Chelsea stars competing on the tournament are Mikel John Obi (Nigeria) and Michael Essien (Ghana).

Valencia midfielder David Albelda claims Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest.


The Spain international is looking to leave Valencia before the close of the transfer window after being ditched by new coach Ronald Koeman.

However, Albelda is currently in dispute with the Che, who insist he can only leave for his buy-out clause, which stands at 60million euros (£44.5m).

He has been linked with a switch to the Premier League and says he would be tempted by the prospect of playing in London.

Chelsea and Spurs have been in touch, according to Albelda, but he is waiting to resolve his situation with Valencia before seeking out a new club.

"I am grateful to Tottenham and Chelsea for their interest, but I cannot negotiate until I have sorted out my departure from Valencia," Albelda told AS.

"I am very attracted to playing in England and especially in London."

Spurs appear unlikely to follow up any interest in the midfielder, with reports claiming Juventus' Tiago is on his way to White Hart Lane.

Chelsea snap up Argentine starlet

Chelsea have signed Argentina Under-20 international striker Franco Di Santo on a four-and-a-half year contract.
The 18-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge from Chilean side Audax Italiano for an undisclosed fee.

Despite standing 6ft 4in tall Di Santo, who holds an Italian passport, has been compared to diminutive Argentina legend Diego Maradona.

Chelsea have reportedly paid more than £3m for Di Santo, who was also linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.

Chelsea's Lampard house-hunting in Barcelona

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is a step closer to making a move to Barcelona.
ONA FM says Lampard is house-hunting in the region and has been looking at luxury homes on the coast near properties owned by Barca stars Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Lampard pledged his future to Chelsea last month, but won't consider discussing a new contract until the season is over.

Drogba Has Signed For One Of The Milan Clubs – Vialli

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has agreed to join one of the Milan clubs, according to former Serie A star Gianluca Vialli.

Vialli has good contacts at Chelsea, following his spell there, first as a player, and then as manager.

Ivorian striker Drogba has been linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge for several months now, and it is widely expected that he will move on to pastures new in the summer.

Both Milan and Inter have been strong associated with making a move, and Vialli says that he will join one of them, but would not reveal who.

"Who will we see in Italy out of Drogba, [Dimitar] Berbatov and [Fernando] Torres? Without a doubt the former,” Vialli said in a video-chat with the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I have heard that he has already signed for a team from Milan that has vertical stripes on their jersey, with two colours, one of which is black.”

Vialli had a magnificent club career in Italy, starring for Cremonese, Sampdoria and Juventus, winning Scudetti and every major European honour with the latter two clubs.

He also won 59 caps for Italy, scoring 16 goals, and appearing in two World Cups, as well as Euro 88.

I love luca not giving anything away....Not surprised tbh I expect him to leave after this season...and if mourinho is going to either of these 2 clubs so will Drogba. it really depends on mourinho imo.

Chelsea are planning a shock bid for Bayern Munich wing ace Franck Ribery. The Mirror says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has put aside £100 million to spend in the summer and French star Ribery is high on their shopping list.

Avram Grant has suggested he will look to bring players of the calibre of Kaka and Lionel Messi to Stamford Bridge in the summer. The Israeli coach is reportedly set to be handed a massive war chest in the summer as he looks to make the Blues into the dominant force in the Premier League again. However, whether AC Milan and Barcelona are willing to part with Kaka and Messi respectively remains unclear despite the funds that will be available to Grant.

"We need to do something. We want to be more consistent and of course I need players who can help with this," he told the Daily Star.
"Will it take a flair player like Kaka or Messi? I will not reject that one of those names will be here.
"Will they come? I think so, yes. This is a big club."

Meanwhile, Grant has also admitted that he will look to alter Chelsea's style of play after coming under fire for a lack of flair since he replaced Jose Mourinho in the hot-seat.
"It's not about how many players - it's about which player you can bring. We want a different style of football. If a player is good for this, we want to take him," he added.
"I am already planning. We're speaking about it all the time for the long and short-term."

The Daily Mail says sporting director Frank Arnesen and scout Rainer Bonhof were in the crowd to watch France international Ribery play an influential role in the German Cup Final on Saturday as Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in extra time.

Dimitar Berbatov fancies a move to Chelsea next season. The People says Berbatov has told friends he expects to sign for the Blues this summer after contract talks with Spurs broke down.

Chelsea will have to pay around £35million for the Bulgarian, especially as Spurs would rather sell to anyone other than their London rivals.

Chelsea have demanded Mario Balotelli be included in any offer from Inter Milan for striker Didier Drogba. Tuttosport says Inter president Massimo Moratti wants to bring Drogba to the Serie A leaders in the summer, despite rival interest from AC Milan and Real Madrid. Chelsea have demanded Balotelli be included in Inter's proposal, however Moratti is reluctant to part with the 17 year-old superkid and instead has put Adriano's name forward.

Aston Villa are planning a £5 million bid for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell. The Mirror says Villa boss Martin O'Neill is lining up a £5million move for Sidwell after admitting that skipper Gareth Barry may quit this summer.
