Mourinho eyes triple transfer swoop
http://www.football365.co.uk/news/story_182580.shtml
Quote:
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants to freshen up his squad with three new signings this summer - with Michael Ballack top of his shopping list.
Both the Blues and the Germany midfielder on Thursday admitted they have held advanced talks about 29-year-old Ballack moving to Stamford Bridge. Mourinho, meanwhile, insists he is also hopeful of recruiting a defender and a striker before next season, although he accepts some members of his current squad will have to be sacrificed.
"We change three players," said Mourinho. "Three players who want to play more and are not very happy in the club, or some players I am frustrated with and have nothing to give us."
He added: "I change them for three other players. I would say three players will come in in the summer. It is the natural process.
"We have a good squad, players at a good age, not players finishing their career. [Claude] Makelele is the oldest player [33] and he looks the youngest one.
"We don't have big needs. The natural tendency is we get a defender, a midfielder and an attacker," quotes The Times.
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has confirmed the club are in talks with Bayern Munich captain Ballack.
The German international skipper revealed yesterday he was in "serious negotiations" with the reigning Barclays Premiership champions and now Kenyon has underlined Chelsea's firm interest in the 29-year-old.
Ballack is available on a free transfer after rejecting the offer of a new deal from the German giants and Kenyon admits the Londoners are in deep negotiations with the player about a summer move to Stamford Bridge.
"I would echo that we are in serious negotiations," Kenyon told BBC Radio London 94.9. "Clearly he is an outstanding and big player so I think we are in good, serious negotiations with him and would echo what he said. We are at a good stage and I am delighted as to where we are."

Ballack is the obvious one but who will be the other two? And who will be leaving?
I reckon you'll be after Ashley Cole (the new defender will definitely be a left back) and Del Horno will be off.
As for strikers, I have no idea. I'm sure Chelsea have made attempts to sign all the top strikers in previous seasons. I can't think who Jose would be bringing in.
As for other players exiting, I reckon maybe Duff and although I don't think he will go Gudjohnsen must be considering it. If Ballack and striker join the club where does that leave him?

We won't get a new left back.
Ballack is likely and so is a striker, but I wouldn't bet on anything right now.
I think defenders that could go would be Huth, Geremi or Johnson...Duff, SWP or Eidur and Crespo or Carlton up front.
But I think most of them will stay.
I would like to see Ballack and Tevez.

Why would Geremi go? He has been happy to sit on the bench for the last two years. Why would he change his mind now?
I thought of Charlton Cole but then I'm surprised he is still at Chelsea as it is.
If you won't sign a left back then what position is this new defender going to play, right back?

I don't know...he just might....I don't want to see anyone go tbh, but I am just guessing over the 3 that allegedly want to leave.
The new defender isn't set in stone to come, or play straight away.....we might be buying someone like Kompany to replace Huth or something.

i dowt duff will go jose likes him on the left,i would hate to see him go,we sure hell dont need a new right back seeing as we got three, only possible defender would be left back, i woudnt want guddy to leave, but i could only imagine how many offers we would get for him, (imo he could make any team in world)

Noone at Chelsea will want Guddy to leave and I doubt he will want to leave either.
Especially if we make a switch to 2 strikers permanent....I would have him as a guaranteed starter as far as thats concerned....only him and Rooney are as good as Bergkamp and Sheringham were as the second striker.

It's obvious really, Del Horno is leaving to go screw up somebody else's team (what a waste of money) Ashley Cole to replace him, he deserves it I mean Arsenal are alright but he needs a season with a top top club just to show his real potential, awesome player. Ballack to come in and Eidur to go out, he's class, great touch but unfortunately no pace so good luck to him at a Man City type club, he'll be great. Carlton Cole to go to Reading and make a name for himself which he has been trying to do for years, he's one for the future, and Glen Johnson to go to Spurs for the good of the country, next England right back. Just to build our English recruitment, Micah Richards in, amazing, as well as Sturridge from Man City and with the likes of Tevez, who has said he wants to come to England and more specifically Chelsea, this year and Martins next year, as like Tevez, the pace at the front and the strength in Drogba will send us miles away from the pack next year, good bet on the treble.
COME ON THE BLUES!!!

freddy adu for ur midfield
probably VERY overhyped but very marketable and already been wined and dined by chelski and expressed his interest in them
ballack is practically certain and tevez would be a good signing if he can adapt, the argentian equivalent to rooney in my eyes...
wouldnt be surprised if crespo went and adriano came in, that wouldnt be too bad especially if adriano ruins the team spirit, id like to see a punchup between him and terry
swp will probs stay, ian wright says if he gets another season like this hell leave which suggests he wants to stay at least one more year

SWP has already said he wants to challenge himself one more season and see how it goes. Good on him imo.
Tevez, Adriano, Torres...all players I would welcome. Don't want to see Crespo go though.

but would u prefer crespo or adriano and do u think mourinho can control adriano and help him adapt to the premiership? he kept control of crespo but only by losing him for a season at his peak and adriano sounds like a much bigger trouble maker

Tough one. Yes and No....Adriano needs to grow up, but I don't see a manager out there who is going to do a better job at taming him than Jose.
Adriano would prefer the weather in Spain though...I don't see him in England no matter how great London is.
Crespo >>> Adriano in his prime, but Adriano if there was no baggage.
I think we can have both players if we maintain the system, but tbh Adriano spearheading an attack with Cole and Robben in support and a midfield of Essien, Lampard and Ballack is wankworthy.

Ashley Cole for sure I mean why else would Clichy have been picked instead of him for the bench on Tuesday because they both played in the same reserve match??
Ballack is another obvious one and what a steal that would be
I think the other one to come in is between a number of strikers: reports say Zlatan Ibrahimovic is coming for £25million but after the way he played against Arsenal in both legs of the Champions League, I am not so sure my name sake will still be looking at him. Tevez has claimed he wants to come and instead of making us pay the £60million Corinthians want, he said he will come for £6million so he's the guy I want. The final one is Eto'o as soon as Henry has gone to Spain but after watching him play against Milan and missing all those chances!!
Good luck Jose i wouldn't want to choose between them.
