Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman and club keeper Petr Cech have come out in support of team-mate Adrian Mutu.
"It was a shock for all of us," said Kezman about Mutu failing a drug test.
"Of course, I hope he comes back to the club. He is a good guy and we will try and give him support in this difficult moment of his life," said Kezman.
"It is going to be difficult for him," added Cech. "It is the most important time of his life and I hope he will fight to get over the situation."
Kezman says he does not know what action the Stamford Bridge club will take with the possibility of the sack looming over Chelsea's £15.8m signing form Parma.
Chelsea have asked their players not to talk about the controversy surrounding Mutu but Kezman said: "I haven't spoken to him in the last few days because he is in a big shock.
"It is very difficult to say what the club are going to decide. I know that it is very difficult for him.
"He has fantastic potential if you look at the quality of Mutu.
"He just made a mistake. He said sorry and now we will see what happens."
