Ontario Cup 2008 Action Continues This Weekend



VAUGHAN, May 20, 2008 -- Ontario Cup action will continue on May 24-25 with the preliminary tournament rounds starting in the Boys Under 12 and Under 13 divisions, and the Girls Under 15 division. North York and Clarington will host the Boys Under 12 groups, and East York, Kanata, and Orangeville will host the Under 13 groups. The Girls Under 15 games will be played in Burlington. Preliminary tournament round action will feature round-robin play in four and five team divisions, with the group winner advancing to the next level of round-robin tournaments. The Men's division will also kick-off their preliminary round on May 25th, with 17 matches being held across Ontario from Peterborough to London. Preliminary round matches are a single game knock-out format, with the winner advancing to the next knock-out round.

The Men's division were first in action for this year's Ontario Cup, playing three extra round matches on May 11th. Mississauga Portofino, Niagara Club Italia Juventus, and Real Toronto all secured their places in the preliminary round with wins on opening day.
