Canada's women's soccer team plays France to 0-0 draw
Canada's women's soccer team played France to a 0-0 draw in a friendly Friday, capping a five-game European trip. The matches were part of Canada's final preparations for the CONCACAF women's Olympic qualifying tournament, April 2-12 in Mexico.
Defender Randee Hermus made her 100th appearance for the Canadian senior side at the game at Stade Robert-Bobin.
The Canadians have to finish top-two in next month's qualifying tournament to book their ticket to the Beijing Olympics.
Canada girls soccer team shares tourbus
A team of 14 Canadian girl footballers is in the country to share the soccer talent with their Ugandan counterparts. The contingent that arrived last Friday, consists of mainly students from Point Gray SS, Vancouver, Canada. It is led by Canada’s leading women soccer coaches Mike Allina and Mark Rizzardo.
