The CSL season will kickoff on May 11th. According to their website the entire schedule will be released this Friday. Application deadline for the 2007 Open Canada Cup is April 30th.

Teams that will be playing the CSL this season:

Toronto Supra, London City, Toronto Croatia, Italia Shooters, St Catharines, Serbian White Eagles, Trois-Rivieres, North York, Can. Lions, and the Windsor Border Stars.

I wonder if my cousin can tryout. I will phone them next month as the long distance plan will Give me loose change.

Canadian Lions is a team owned by the Milan Group which has secured the rights as the Canadian member of the international division, to replace the previous Oakville Blue Devils.

Trois-Rivieres Attak is a new team in the Province of Quebec introduced by owner Tony Iannitto of last year’s Laval Dynamites. Attak is the reserve team for Montreal Impact of the U.S.-based USL First Division.

Brampton Stallions, which represented that community to the north-west of Toronto last season, is taking this year off, while the franchise of last year’s Caribbean Selects was revoked by the league during the off-season.

Canadian Lions and Toronto Supra, are playing amateur status,no paid players, expenses only.

This is for local talent to be Given a chance to play. Mostly College players who arrive home in the summer to explore in what they have to offer.

This is Good news for Giuseppe Salvano who is a kid I work with. He has pace, Skill and plays the MF well. Also, My cousin will be out this tryout if I can make it in Toronto on time. I wish I can be a coach So i won't hae to travel back and forth.

The Italia Shooters usually get some coverage in the local italian paper that gets delivered to my house. My sister found it hilarious that they were called teh "shooters" because where we are from, the italians are all considered shooters lol i loved it!

The Serbian White Eagles have signed Osni Purificacao Neto, who I think played for the Toronto Lynx last year.

Portuguese Supra defeated the Windsor Border Star 5-3 in there season opener. Defender, sometimes midfielder Carlos Zaballos struck the 2007 opening goal for Portuguese after 11 minutes and Windsor’s Scott Patraquin tied the score 1-1 four minutes later.

Border Stars’ forward Dominic Scicluna put the visitors ahead, 2-1, at the 18th minute mark and Yami William tied for Portuguese seven minutes later.

Nicolas Keith put the Toronto team ahead at the 49th minute mark, forward Aaron Byrd tied it 3-3 for Windsor at 69 minutes, Jesse Marcia made it 4-3 for Portuguese at 74 minutes and John Marcia sealed the win for the home side in added time.

Way to Go boys -- make room for Giuseppe Salvano, he's coming.
