Default Frustrated

Hello all. Another very frustrated Lazio fan here. I'm sure you've all been discussing this for the last few months but doesn't it seem like Lazio 'over-achieved' last season while they're 'under-achieving' this year?

I'm mad at Lotito for not doing a better job with acquiring a top-notch keeper for the start of the season.

I hope they turn it around soon or else Rossi is going to 'lose' his players and it will get much worse.

I don't think Lolito and Lazio have a choice in the matter. Last year, there were circumstances that helped the club achieve a higher standing, and they got the CL. This year its different, they have been exposed for some of the holes in their lineup, however make no mistake, I think the club is on the right track forward. They have some great young talent, and they must make moves wisely. Baby steps as they say. The goal is too finish as high as possible.

Lazio have played some stinkers earlier on, but the second half is about to begin, I think they will finish strong.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, Lazio can't buy their way out of trouble, so that means they must develop and be a seller, and build that way. Sort of like Fiorentina.

for our current situation, there is only 1 person i blame; lotito. he had a fresh injection of funds thanks to our qualification to cl and also our 3rd place finish, there was more than enough reason to start spending on trying to improve the squad. it was painfully obvious that our squad was only strong for 1 competition, they will not be able to play as well if we are participating on all 3 fronts.

we lost peruzzi, a crucial leader in our defense; there is a reason why we did so well last season defensively as compared to this season's pathetic rearguard. his replacement? muslera - an absolute joke. we signed meghni, del nero, kolarov and scaloni. honestly, none of them will be breaking into the first team, meghni is too injury prone but is doing decently well. del nero and scaloni are just wasteful in my opinion, they are not players who can make a jump in quality for lazio. kolarov is a very hot prospect, he has shown his talent on more than 1 occasions, this is the only signing i can really comment on that lazio is taking a step forward.

on the whole, this mercato was a disaster, and lotito have to make it right in january. there are no 2 ways about it, there is no excuses, he promised he would spend to provide rossi with the right options and that is what he must do.

This I completely agree with. You just can't get rid of all your leaders, and not expect repercussions. Though I'm still very optimistic with the club.

Spending in January is really putting him on the spot, not usually an ideal time to spend. They should wait for the summer.
What is your thought on Pandev? Will he move?

spending is a must. our squad is in a condition whereby it is unable to accept any injuries, put it through and we are basically screwed. we need to start with a goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder and a striker. no names for speculation as i do not want to be disappointed again.

pandev is a big player destined for big things. though on more than 1 occasions, he has reiterated his stance to stay at lazio. arsenal were interested in him, and pandev replied with he is already at a big club. if we progress, i can foresee pandev staying for the long term, but at this point of time, pandev will not leave unless a ridiculous amount of money has been offered.

You know the player well, is he better than Podolski of Bayern? He was rumoured to go their and the Bayern fans have slammed him, and I defended him.

Klose and Toni...then Pandev??

on his day, he is better than podolski. the problem with pandev is his inconsistency but this season he is proving me wrong. if pandev maintains this kind of consistency throughout the season, there is no reason why i can't believe pandev is a more talented player than podolski.

Darran, you are 100% correct! The whole Carrizo thing was a big joke. That's all we heard about for months and months and at the end the whole thing falls through. I don't expect Lazio to compete for the top-notch players out there but, for crying out loud, you can't go into the Champions League, or Serie A for that matter, with Ballota as your #1 keeper.

The most frustrating thing for me this year is how sloppy Lazio has been with the ball. I haven't seen all the games, but the ones I've seen have been very bad. As I said above, last year Lazio over-achieved and this year they are under-achieving. To finish 4th in a CL group with Bremen and Olympiakos, ridiculous!

By the way (sorry for the babbling), why does the Italian League take a holiday until the 13th and the Coppa Italia doesn't resume until the 16th. Even the Spaniards are playing today. I've been enjoying all this English football so much!

thanks for listening!

Always been this way. As for exact reason, it could be weather related..most likely.

Or a break does our clubs good, as it is Xmas and holiday time, and we are a catholic nation.

I think they play way too much in England btw.
