WOW. what a fucking save!
but casillas save vs. olympiakos beats it, not only it was harder to do and more beautiful IMO, but it was in injury time and conceding it would have ended the match in a draw, I don't know what was the score in this one...

It's a great save and i don't want to take it down, but to be honest the ball was only heated around 50 cm next to him
None the less a beautiful save, the ball was headed in fast
ps the save lionel is talking about (after 22 seconds)

Buffon has never been about diving 5 feet. He is always in the right place. It was a nice save, but Ive seen better from Buffon this season. I liked his save vs Inter, on Suazo I think.
This 1 vs Cagliari, while it was 1-1. Defence does win u games.

They say a great goalkeeper doesn't have to dive too far or high as they will be in the right position to make it easy. Casillas isn't, lol.

what are you talking about, the majority of the saves in that video by casillas he didn't have to much, just had to have amazing reflexes. and on the last save, where he had to dive the most, you can see ramos blocking his view and missing his header/block.

Casillas is good, but overrated, and not in the league of Buffon or Cech. He is a show-pony, and his handling, positioning, command of the box, etc are nothing compared to the above two.

he's good enough to put a team with sloppy defese, okay attack and no midfield to the top of la liga, 14 months so far.
its too obvious you had seen less than 2 matches of real madrid this season, but I din't watch one of buffon either.
casillas was MOTM more than any other player in real madrid so fr this season.
I don't care about positioning, reflexes etc etc, I prefer rating a goalkeeper by how important he is to the team or how many saves he makes per match. casillas is more than comparable in those aspects to cech and buffon.
btw, we were saying that the save of casillas is the best of the season (the save of the century IMO) regardless to whether casillas is a good goalkeeper or not.

Casillas Has the best reaction and reflexes for a Keeper.Buffon and Cech have amazing positioning.Cech's double save against Arsenal was top class. But Buffon does the same.
Buffon is still the best IMO.Positioning handling and overall command in the box is a cut above the other.
Lets not forget that Casillas is in the Spanish League which isnt as defensive oriented as EPL or Serie A.Overall I believe its Buffon with Cech and Casillas tied for second.Casillas has done just as much as Cech and has been doing it longer on the big stage.

Madrid have more wins and goals scored than any other team in the league, so you're wrong. U dont win games and score alot of goals with "no midfield" and an "ok attack".
Furthermore, that would explain y they are 1st place, not only because of Casillas, although he obviously played a part, although he isn't the sole reason like u exaggerated.

No, its not " to obvious". Its a groundless assumption on your part. There is no possibly way u could know my viewing habits. Ive seen enough to make an informed decision.

Good for him, but the same can be said about Buffon.

How can u downplay those attributes? Those are what seperate the good from the world class.
He cant command/organize a defence like Buffon or Cech, and his nice saves are frequently demonstrated because he is constantly caught out of position. I said he is a good goalie, but he is clearly overrated by those in La Liga. Take away his show-pony saves, and he is good, not world class. Although in Spain its all about appearances, so thats not surprising.

If Casillas isnt world class then what you're saying is that Buffon and Cech are only world class?Disagree if so.Casillas should be rated in the top 3.Ofcourse each respective league will hype up their goalie.
example...prem fans and Cech (although I think he is a bit overhyped but a great keeper non the less) la Liga fans and Casillas and finally Serie A and Buffon.Thats just the way it works.

Being a keeper , good keeper or great keeper means barcing out orders to your defense, positioning your wall properly and leading your team by example.
Also giving out encouragement when needed, this on top of great reflexes.
Let us not forget about the keeper himself being in the right position so that he doesn't have to use his great reflexes all the time.
I for one feel Buffon encompanies all these qaulities and more, above any other keeper in the world.

I was joking (slightly). Casillas spills alot of balls which is my biggest problem with him.
Also I'd like to point out the amount of goals Madrid conceded sometimes in games last season. Also Buffon isn't playing with players like Ramos, Canna and Pepe infront of him. He's had to deal with several changes and replacements and has still organised us well.
Buffon makes everything look easy. A sign of a true great.
Anyway, Frey's saves against Ibrahimovic deserves a shout.
Oh and I'd probably have Frey over Casillas tbh.
