I've been saying all along that he should return to Italy and to me Parma would be a great club as he'd get plenty of games.
Either way he needs to move whether on a loan deal or permanently.

hes only 18, he doesnt need to have broken into one of the best clubs in europe already, he has plenty of time. there is no way hed go permanently already but a loan would certainly be a good idea, im sure parma would appreciate his talent more than newcastle

I think he'd work well with someone like Budan.
At the moment he's the only one scoring for Parma.

Rossi going back to Parma
Quote:
Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi is poised to rejoin former club Parma on loan.
Rossi has just returned to Old Trafford after spending the first half of the season on loan at Newcastle United.
He made just 11 appearances for The Magpies and his lack of playing time infuriated Sir Alex Ferguson, who then intimated the forward would not be leaving again.
However, Parma have arranged a deal to sign the teenage forward on loan for the rest of the season.
The Red Devils signed Rossi from Parma in 2004 and the Serie A strugglers confirmed the highly-rated hot shot is due to return to the Ennio Tardini.
"He will arrive on loan from Manchester," Parma lawyer Giuseppe Cappelli told the Italian media.
"We were interested in Nicola Ventola, but the market goes in this way.
"Thanks to a blitz in Manchester from our sporting director, we have taken him back on loan.
"If everything will be okay, on Thursday he will arrive in Parma and, if the transfer is finished soon, he could be at the coach's disposal against Torino (on Sunday)."

wait a minute does that mean Dong Fangzhou is ahead of Rossi in the pecking order?
im beginning to get worried that Rossi might feel he's not going to get a chance in our first team soon enough, i know he's only 19 but he's supposed to be uber-talented and his reserves record suggests as much, he cant exactly do much more and yet hes still not being selected...
i hope this loan isnt just putting him in the shopwindow for other italian clubs.

I cant see any of the top Italian clubs making a move for him.
Parma are close to new owership. If Rossi performs well and takes them out of relegation, any new owner would be willing to splash cash to secure him. His ties with Parma will make it that much easier for Rossi to accept and will him that much more appealing to the fans.
From the Glazer perspective, I imagine Fangzhou is ahead in the pecking order.

Rossi didn't excel at Newcastle, he has had (admittedly few) first team chances over the last 3 years and not really shown that he is ready for first team football in the premiership.
I'm not at all certain what this means for Rossi's United career long term but I don't think this is a positive sign.
With regard to Dong remember that Rossi was on loan during the 1st half of the season - before Dong got a work permit - with Larsson at OT till mid March too I think it is difficult to say Dong is ahead of Rossi in the pecking order. Don't forget though that Dong has basically been on loan for 3 years, he is older than Rossi and due to work permit issues he has been unable to join up with the United squad until now, loaning him out makes no sense, so the fact Dong has been kept at the club while Rossi has been loaned out is far from proof that Dong is ahead of Rossi at OT.
Also any suggestion that Dong is getting preferential treatment because he is Asian is pathetic, Dong until now hasn't been able to have a chance at OT while Rossi needs first team experience. This move makes sense.

Rossi has 4 goals in 12 first team appearances, thats not too bad for a youngster.

Maybe SAF doesn't think Rossi is working hard enough to improve his game and this might just be a kick up the arse for the lad.

I agree and I wasn't implying that. I was talking along the lines of Dong being a marketing wet dream, something I have a feeling your Americans owners would very much fancy.
As for Rossi, I think the fact so much debate surrounds his future is a positive sign. Lets not forget he is only 19. His goal record in the reserves has been awesome. He will eventually get his chance, and when he does, Im sure he will do a good job.

For me he should have gone Sunderland like what Lupoli is doing at Derby. When you loan a player never loan him to another premiership club especially a club who are top 10 team possibly.

It's good news for Rossi more than anything, he needs the games and first team experience.
