Luca Toni Tips Inter For Scudetto
Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has endorsed the popular opinion that Inter Milan will run away with the Scudetto.
The fomer Fiorentina striker believes it is still too early for Juventus to challenge for the title, and that Milan's lack of consistency will be their Achilles heel.
"I say that Inter will win it as they have the best squad - they are just superior," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Milan have top-class players too who can win big games, but they are less consistent.
"It’s too soon for Juve, the best that they can achieve is the Champions League zone."
He was also restless to get going in Germany ahead of the Bundesliga kick-off this weekend: "I feel at home and I want to get going."
The big number 9 also rubbished suggestions that he could find himself out of the Azzurri squad.
"Do I fear not being noticed by Roberto Donadoni? No, he has already shown that he takes foreign-based players into account and I play for Bayern, a famous side.
"If I play and I score, I’ll get the Italy call and I want to go to the friendly against Hungary on August 22. I’ve been working hard to recover from a calf injury and in a couple of days’ time I should be ready to play."

I don't like Toni's opinion one bit. For the first time a will disagree with him. But I am sure he will get the call for Hungry if he is fot and injury free. Donadoni likes Toni, Donadoni will announce on the 18th who he has chosen for that game

|
Among all doubts, just before the kick-off, Ottmar Hitzfeld decided to play Italian striker Luca Toni, who just returned from injury, from the 1st minute. Luca Toni even scored on his Bundesliga debut today, against Hansa Rostock, in the 14th minute, after an assist from Miro Klose.
Bravo Luca!
Toni's goal is actually Bayern's 1900th home goal in Bundesliga.
Btw, the first home goal in Bundesliga was scored by Rainer Ohlhauser, on 21st August 1965. Bayern beat Frankfurt that day, 2-0 was the score. Match was played in Grünwalder Stadion.

He looks happy, I hope he destroys your league. And I don't have any doubt he will. As long as you guys supply with balls in that range, he will bury most if not all.

Toni: My perfect Bayern bow Sunday 12 August, 2007
Luca Toni admits his winning Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich was “perfect” and will have impressed Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni.
“I really missed celebrating by holding my hand up to my ear. I hope to do that many more times,” said the 2006 Golden Shoe winner.
He took just 14 minutes to break the deadlock in the 3-0 win over Hansa Rostock – quite an achievement considering he was not even expected to play due to injury.
“I didn’t expect to take part, let alone play the whole game. I was out for a month and only started training with the squad again on Thursday and the Coach didn’t know whether to call me up,” he told the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.
“It all went brilliantly, though. A goal, a win and an exceptional atmosphere. It really was a perfect day.”
Italy boss Donadoni was watching the match on television, which no doubt helped Toni’s chances of being picked for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against France and Ukraine.
“There are no problems with the Coach. He calls me and keeps up to date on my condition, so I know he is following my progress.”
The former Fiorentina striker has struggled with recurring injuries over the past few months, but finally seems to have turned a corner.
“The more I play, the fitter I become, but this is just the start. I have a good rapport with Miroslav Klose. Neither of us are egotistical in the penalty area, so we combine well. I am here to win every time.”
Toni has not lost sight of his ‘old’ life in Serie A, though, and sent a message out to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
“I thank everyone for their kind words and want to give a public ‘good luck’ for the season to my former Fiorentina teammates.”

Luca Toni scored another one today guys, as we thrashed Bremen away 4-0.
He was also fouled on the penalty zone, and ref rewarded us with a penalty, which Ribery converted into a goal.

He also assisted the 3rd goal. He already seems settled.

Ex-Fiorentina striker Luca Toni is delighted at his inclusion in Roberto Donadoni’s Italy squad for the August 22 friendly against Hungary.
Toni left the peninsula to join Bayern Munich this summer and there had been suggestions that leaving Italy may see him slip off Donadoni’s radar.
However, the giant ex-Palermo man has found the net in both his opening two games in the Bundesliga an | | | | |
