Talking Moggi's Homophobic outburst!

Quote:
Moggi’s homophobic outburst Tuesday 22 April, 2008

Former Juventus general director Luciano Moggi has brought more disgrace on himself after telling journalists he is against homosexuality in football.

The 70-year-old, currently banned from the sport for five years after his involvement in the Calciopoli scandal, believes homosexuals are not ‘made for calcio’.

“I don’t know if footballers are against gays in the team, I certainly am,” he noted. “I can quietly confirm that, in the clubs where I have been, I have never had them, never.

“I would never have wanted a homosexual player. Even today I wouldn’t buy one. Supposing I were to make a mistake and I found one of them, he would be the first to go.”

Homosexuality is still taboo in football despite being accepted in society.

“I am a little old-fashioned,” admitted Moggi. “But I know the football world and its insides. You cannot live within it as a gay. A homosexual cannot be a footballer.”

Not backward at coming forward, the controversial Tuscan went on to deny the existence of homosexuality in football.

“In calcio there are no homosexuals, neither between players nor among directors. It’s not racism, it’s fact. Football has a particular environment, you get naked in the dressing room...

“I have no gay friends. I go out with other people. But I have to say that homosexuals are very intelligent people, they have the capacity to see things differently.”

The President of Italy’s gay rights organisation, Aurelio Mancuso, responded swiftly.

“Moggi’s declarations, according to which homosexuals cannot work as footballers, are ridiculous,” he underlined.

Franco Grilli, a socialist politician, advised Moggi to go live in an old people’s home and shut up.

I think Moggi "likes" naked men in the dressing room.

As Moggi stated...he's from a different generation. I saw Totti kissing (Italian style) a few players before the Livorno match this past weekend in the tunnel...if he did that anywhere other then Europe, he would of been known as a homosexual.

But, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Moggi is a legend and probably the greatest transfer guru of all time. Juventus and myself miss him greatly.
