Chelsea owner Abramovich offered Bari
It's being rumoured in the Italian press that Abramovich was given the chance to buy Bari but he deemed the £7m asking price to be too steep.

I don't believe this per say, many teams were linked with Roman.
Apparently Roman was very close to buying Roma, now that is a scarey thought to think of what type of players Roma would have now??

It would be nice if Roma had unlimited funds to be part of the major transfer deals...but it's not in the cards....one can only wish!

It would be interesting if he did buy an Italian team though, our league really needs the money at the moment.

It would of been good for the league for the whole.
Roma, Lazio etc...will attract better owners once they get their finances in line. That means paying off debt, and living within its means.
These are business people, they buy investments, not holes.
Roma is on the right track, don't get on that slippery slope, its a long way down.

Exactly, we could really do with one or two people like Abramovich at the moment.

..but remember what I also said, we can't attract these type of investors because the clubs are in financial abyss.
They need to clean up the books and such, and they will come.

Actually you bring up a good point. Roma were on the verge of being taken over a year or two ago but their finances were in such a mess that the investors pulled out.

Exactly.
Its not going to get better, until the finances get better. The smaller clubs are learning, I think Lazio is learning....not sure about Roma.
Look out for Fiiorentina, and Napoli will be decent in two years time.
Lets hope they make Serie A.
