That makes sense, F_R I'm with Diabolico in this one, as you guys can watch Serie A games on daley, putting the score on the thread title would ruin the fun of watching the games.

I tried it today with a couple of the games...i will do it tomorrow for the other games as well...maybe we should make a poll thread and ask?? that sounds like a fair method.

I had another thought about this: we have a league standings thread, so how about changing the title to "Results and League Standings" and adding the results each time the standings are added? The more I think about it the more I'm of the opinion that results should be in a thread rather than in the titles, since not only does that make it easier for those who don't want to see the results, it also makes it easier for those who DO want to see them (that way, you don't have to visit each team's forum to see each result, you can see them all in one place).

But ultimately it's not a huge issue to me, though I want to know how it turns out so I'll know how careful I should be reading the forum when it's a time I don't want to know the results. A poll is fine with me if you want to set one up.

I agree with you on this now...what if a person comes to the site, looking to search a forum of example Roma and wants to know the score in that game, but doesn't want to know the Milan score, but sees if by accident in the main calcio forum...that wouldn't be good...maybe a separate sticky thread of weekly results would be good...i will leave it up to Joel to make the decision. Whatever he sees fit, we will do. Good thoughts Diabolico!

I guess, because you guys usually post the game results in the prediction league...i don't know anymore...i'm going to make a poll, then Joel can dcide based on the results.

There has been recent debates on whether there should be results from the games. But i thought it would be best to have a poll and decide different scenarios in regards to posting results of games. Discuss any other possibilties that come to mind as well.

Diabolico is right...what if someone doesn't want to know the score of certain games and comes on the site...they will be very disappointed knowing the scoreline. I think a separate Sticky thread would be good.

Like I said on the other thread, I think editing the first post would be the most clever thing to do. That way, a person only sees the result if that person wants to.

But you guys are the ones who boss around here, so it's up to you.

Exactly, and that very thing has happened to me on other forums-- really it's no one's fault by my own (I should've just avoided the forum entirely until after I'd seen the game), but I was going there to comment on the Milan game... and the score from a Lazio game I hadn't seen yet (and was planning to) appeared on the main forum page because it was in the title of the most recently posted-on thread.

I voted for the separate sticky results thread, but really either of these are equally OK with me:
Current format -A general post in the game thread (ex. FT 3-1 Milan)
A separate sticky in Calcio Italiano forum (Weekly results)
Results and League Standings Thread

Or as Kahn said, edit the first post of each match thread to include the result.

Basically I'd rather not have results in the thread titles, but anything else is OK. (Though if it's decided that we're going to put results in thread titles, that's fine and I'll go along with it.)

I think it's clear there's an issue with putting the results in the thread titles.

Personally I'm happy to stick with the current system. As of now each game has a thread where it can be discussed before, during and after it's been played. If people don't want to know the score there's no danger of them accidentally seeing it and if people want to see the score they can just view the thread.

The real problem is those that want quick access to the results and scores so a thread for that may be the solution. We already have a 'Serie A League Standings' thread to that can easilly be converted if needed.
