He belongs back in Italy, where those awards were won.
Im sure Madrid are happy. He will probably sell more jerseys than Beckam this year.

Congrats to Canna. He had a great season for Juve and Azzurri in the World Cup.
He has not been the giant in La Liga as he was in Serie A, but has played approved and is an important defender for Los Merengues.

Even Canna has admitted he hasn't played to his best in Spain yet. He is progressively getting better each month though.
For the world cup, Italy had something to prove, especially Canna, with the Juve connection. Im not sure if he can maintain that level of consistency again. Regardless, he was definetly a good buy, and Madrid's defence is stronger with him than without.

Great news, well deserved.
Cannavaro was fantastic this year.

When you look at the performances from the other two nominations (Ronaldinho and Zidane) you have to say he deserves it. No one has been more consistent or more important to his club and nation over the past year.
Bravo Fabio.

I liked his speech, the parts on calcio, who he dedicated this award to. U could tell he was being subtle, since Blatter was only a few feet away.

I almost wish Materazzi had won the award because he would have nutted Blatter.

And eight of our players played in the WC final.
Nobody else deserves it, tbh.

That's the thing, in the end there just wasn't any competition.
He fully deserves it though.
