Udinese marksman Antonio Di Natale will not be joining Roma this winter, according to agent Bruno Carpeggiani.

The Neapolitan striker has been a vital component in Udinese’s superb start to the campaign and has also shown his importance in the Azzurri set-up.

It had been suggested that Di Natale may make a switch to the Eternal City in January as the Giallorossi look to reinforce their Scudetto credentials, but Carpeggiani believes Roma will have to wait for the summer.

“Antonio will not leave Udinese in January,” he told Teleradiostereo. “We will have to wait until June to talk about it again when Roma may be interested.

“Luciano Spalletti and the directors like Di Natale, but it’s clear that he is attached to Udinese where he is doing well and it won’t be easy.

“One major problem is that he will go to Euro 2008 and that will raise his price,” Carpeggiani warned.

“I’d say that anyone who wants to sign him should try and get an agreement soon as the fee is set to increase.”

Udinese sporting director Pietro Leonardi denies that Roma have made any approach for Azzurri hitman Antonio Di Natale.

The Neapolitan striker has impressed this term with five goals in a prospering Zebrette side and has reportedly called upon Roma to make an offer for him.

There has been speculation that the 30-year-old could exit the Stadio Friuli in January, but the club are keen to scotch these whispers.

“There has been no contact between Roma and myself regarding Di Natale,” Leonardi declared.

“Udinese are showing their strength in the League and in the next three of four years we will be able to demand big players too.

“However, for now we have spoken to the Giallorossi about various things and they are not interested.

“Di Natale is an Udinese player and will remain an Udinese player as he is crucial to the side.”

Hot property Antonio Di Natale will stay with Udinese until June, but his agent warns after that “anything can happen.”

The Italian international is one of the most sought after strikers on the transfer market after stunning performances this season for both Udinese and the Italy squad.

He is reportedly of interest to Roma, Milan, Juventus, Inter and Manchester United, although the Giallorossi are the favourites.

“We are honoured to hear of Roma’s interest, but Di Natale will not move in January,” commented agent Bruno Carpeggiani on ‘Teleradiostereo.’

“The Friuli club consider Antonio to be not for sale, but in June anything can happen.”

Di Natale would relish the opportunity to hook up with his former Udinese boss Luciano Spalletti again at the Stadio Olimpico, especially as it would mean playing alongside Francesco Totti.

“Of course Di Natale is 31 years old and would be happy to play for a big club, but not before the summer,” added Carpeggiani.

“In any case, Roma have to negotiate with Udinese. We are standing by.”

I can see it happening, especially now that they got two other Italians (Zaccardo & Barzagli).

Wolfsburg are building a good side in the German football, just like Fiorentina in the Italian football.

Di Natale is a good striker, and would be an excellent transfer for Wolfsburg.

So, this would be a good move for both parties.

Yeah, I'm sure Barzagli in particular will be having words with him during the tournament this summer.

I doubt Udinese would sell though.
