Italy need to sort out pre contracts
With United preparing to repeat the trick they did to poach Rossi and Lupoli, they are preparing the same for Federico Macheda of Lazio as soon as he turns 16 in late August. http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ngloangle.html
It's a mess as Italian clubs are losing their young prospects to foreign countries before they have a chance to develop, the FIGC need to lower the age for professional contracts to prevent this poaching, the compensation package is also a joke.....

This is not good at all. Its not going to be a huge irratant until a really good player from the big clubs is snatched.
As for it being bad or good, remember that Rossi and Lupoli are back in Italy, so I'm not sure.
Now if a player like Roberto Baggio is stolen, then there will be hell to pay I reckon.
....though it seems players do have a choice not to accept the "deal". So who knows?
I know of one Inter prospect that rejected an offer from a very large club in another country, as his family did not want to move, and they wanted him to develop under the club.

But at that age if a big club comes in of course the player is going to accept.
The current situation cannot last, if a player gets poached at a young age, even if he doesn't turn out to be that great, psychologically he is ruined as he is only thinking of the big 3 clubs, when in reality he would be perfect for mid table sides.
Oh and players wont get stolen from the big clubs as if foreign clubs don't come in for talents then Inter, Milan, Juve etc fill that role perfectly.

not really
a 17 year old is not going to start for united or any foreign club
if he is really good and already in the milan or inter or juve organization
i highly doubt he will leave to go to another organization
you bring up rossi, but didn't rossi end up back in italy?
if the player is good enough, the players won't let him leave
and the parents have to give consent

No my point is that if a club such as United for example comes in for a 16 year old, from then on the 16 year old only thinks he is good enough for teams like United as they came in for him so early in his career.
It sets their expectations so high, and no Rossi is back in Manchester for now, the loan was temporary, he is determined to try break into the first XI which proves my point that psychologically i he manipulated by being bought by United at such a young age.

But not only that, just think of what Parma lost when Rossi signed for Man Utd.
Not only did they lose his talent but they lost the transfer fee they would have received for him a few years down the line. The compensation they got wouldn't have covered that.

I agree and disagree. Utd, Madrid, etc will not be able to pry away the young talent from Juve, Milan, Inter, etc. However, the smaller clubs usually farm the best talent since they get more playing time and are more reliant on them as a club, since they dont have the money of a big club to fill all the holes. I do see your point. A higher compensation package would be a start.
I dont agree with your stance on young players and their "high expectations". Thats a generalisation. I think the opposite. A shitload of players pass through the ranks of big clubs and never get a chance at the first team. Every player know's the realities of football. I dont think its a rule to say they leave with inflated ego's, and therefore will only play for top clubs. Especially in Italy, as youngsters very rarely start in the top teams. They have to mature at other clubs first b4 they are even considered.

Reggina star Rolando Bianchi has confessed that he could move abroad, even if he’d prefer to remain in Italy.
The 24-year-old was in stunning form last season, scoring 18 goals in Serie A and becoming one of the hottest properties on the market.
“I have never ruled out any possibility,” Bianchi told Raisport. “I am Italian and I would therefore like to stay here, but I am aware that there are some difficulties connected to that.
“If that is the case I will take other options into consideration, including a move to a foreign club,” explained the striker, who was reportedly close to signing for Napoli.
“I am mostly sorry for the Azzurri supporters. Many untrue things have been said about me recently, but I am used to working hard and I don’t like people to believe anything different.
“Where will I go? Right now I am a Reggina player and this club is my priority, but we will see what happens over the next few days,” concluded Bianchi.
Reggina President Lillo Foti confirmed that a foreign outfit is the striker’s most likely destination. “I think a move could be finalised shortly,” said the Amaranto chief.
“There have been offers from important clubs. The player would like to stay in Italy to increase his chances of playing for the Nazionale, but he has interesting opportunities abroad.
