Default BRASIL LATEST RESULTS

RIO DE JANEIRO, April 5 (Reuters) - Santos number 10 Diego, who 15 months ago was touted as one of Brazil's best prospects, is in the doghouse after being substituted again at the weekend.

The playmaker has been replaced in eight of 13 club matches this year and has yet to score. Speculation is mounting that the 19-year-old, who has been linked with a move to English premier league club Tottenham Hotspur, may soon be on his way to Europe.

On Sunday, Diego compounded a lacklustre performance by apparently becoming involved in a slanging match with coach Emerson Leao during the 4-0 defeat by Sao Caetano in the Paulista (Sao Paulo state) championship semi-final.

Diego burst on to the scene as a 17-year-old when he led Santos to their first Brazilian championship. He was rewarded with his first Brazil cap last year in a friendly with Mexico.

But his reputation took a huge knock when Brazil's under-23 team failed to qualify for the Athens Olympic Games, astonishingly losing out to Paraguay in the South American qualifiers in January.

Spurs wont sign him, he will join the esteemed ranks of Diego Maradona, Javier Saviola and Andriy Shevchenko as a world class player Rottenham allowed to slip through the net

Diego is a great Ten ... great skills I saw him
play agaist Mexico in the Gold Cup., and he looked better
than Kaka.
a Natural 10
Premier would not be the best option for him....
Maybe Spain or Italy.

Is it me or does he remind you of zidane the way he goes down for the ball. He can move his body so eaisly too. I dont think the premiership will be his style of football but la liga and italy would be perfect.
