Default Butt handed fine and suspension

Quote:
Birmingham midfielder Nicky Butt has been fined £8,500 and handed a one-match ban for using abusive and/or insulting language to a match official.

The charge related to an incident that happened after Butt was sent off in the Premiership game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on 17 September.

The 30-year-old had already admitted his guilt but requested a personal hearing to explain his actions.

Butt had already received a three-match ban for his red card in the match.

However, he will now miss the derby against Aston Villa at St Andrews on 16 October.

He was dismissed after kicking out at Dario Silva in the 1-1 draw and the extra one-match ban relates to comments he directed towards the referee's assistant.

Butt was represented at the disciplinary hearing by Blues boss Steve Bruce, who felt his player's behaviour had been singled out by the authorities.

Birmingham currently have the worst disciplinary record in the Premiership, with Butt, Neil Kilkenny and Kenny Cunningham sent off in successive Premiership games.
So Butt doesn't like Silva getting a bit close in the build up to a freekick so kicks out at him gets a red card and 3 match ban, calls the ref a ****** on the way off the pitch and getan extra match ban plus a £8000 fine for that. The question is where are all the people having a go at Nicky? Telling us how he is arrogant, spoiled, a thug, petulant, and shouldn't play for England until he has grown up, etc.

Oh I see his name isn't Wayne Rooney so no one cares.

Simply it is because Manchester United are so hated and Rooney so special.

The media won't stop until they have sent him the way of Gascoigne.

FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER, variously described and derided as 'brave rebels', 'irrelevant outsiders' and 'a right bunch of dicks'. Living testament to that peculiarly Mancunian talent for gazing at the world in all it's wonder, thinking for a minute, and then muttering "Nah that's bollocks. This is how we'll do it..."

OH OH OOH! It's Carrick you know! Hard to believe it's not Scholes!
