Hleb Heading To Barca - Agent

One of Alexander Hleb's representatives has revealed that his client won't be required to join the Mourinho revolution at Inter, and is instead still close to a move to Barcelona...

The words of Vincenzo Morabito add credence to recent rumours linking the Belarussian ace to a switch to Catalunya.

He told the press that Internazionale, under the tutelage of ex-Chelsea boss José Mourinho, have cooled their interest in the midfielder, and with Real Madrid yet to make their move, Barcelona are in the driver's seat.

He said to Unico Grande Amore radio, "He's close to Barcelona. The blaugrana have aimed for months now to bring him to them.

"But it's a shame that we didn't get to take him to Italy as he was well-admired at Inter.

"Mourinho has chosen a different path, focusing on his own players."

Hleb is rumoured to have already agreed personal terms with Barça, meaning that the club must now seek an accord with Arsenal.

Personally I hope Arsenal ask for too much and Barca go for David Silva.

I don't consider myself someone who knows hleb, but I don't think he fits us.

Because then Barca may not buy Silva, who had been a much better option, than Hleb.

However, I don't think Hleb had been awful for Barcelona. He is a good footballer that may had developed in a positive way, in La Liga.

David Silva would be a better signing, but yeah, getting Hleb ain't bad either.

Hleb has some good technique, and I think he'd fit in well.

Hleb's Agents Meet With Barcelona

One of Alexander Hleb's agents, Uli Ferber, has told the BBC that he has discussed a possible move for his client to Barcelona from Arsenal...

Hleb has long since been rumoured to leave the club he joined back in 2005 for £11.2m, and Barcelona are one of the clubs most interested in him.

Indeed, it seems that Barça are now heading the queue for the Belarussian in light of the fact that Inter have pulled out of the race.

Ferber said, "We have had talks with Barcelona but nothing has been signed.

"I'm sorry that we won't be able to take him to Italy, he liked Inter a lot but obviously Mourinho has made some different choices and has gone for some other names."

The ex-Stuttgart man, who has one year left on his contract, is also wanted by Real Madrid.

If Messi cheated in 06 with his over dramatics, then Carvalho cheated in 05 with his holding of the keeper. Chelsea wouldn't have gone through if he didn't cheat there so it diminishes the achievement of Chelsea winning in 05 a bit there We do sort of bring out in the worst in each other in these legendary matches as we both go all out to win.

I still don't want Hleb, he's hard working but pretty useless in the final third. Silva is hardworking, can play as the playmaker, winger or central midfielder, can find space out of anything and has a lethal shot on him.

I'd be happy if Hleb joined Bayern (well the media are reporting that he has already signed), but Hleb himself today said that he has not signed for any club yet. It doesn't mean anything though, it's still open.

we or I personally, rate him as a player. he has a decent technique and great passing ability... but for us he doesn't seem to fit in. we must get a LW in this summer and if hleb comes he will take that position, and if he does NOT come, we'll probably get david silva(who is uncomparably better for us) to that position. and I also think hleb is better when he plays AM role, and we don't need such player for now. mancini is also very likely to come and I prefer him over hleb, better at most aspects...

Barca Chief In London For Hleb

Barcelona vice president Marc Ingla has flown to London to negotiate with Arsenal over Alexander Hleb according to Sport.

The Blaugrana are favourites to land the Belarus midfielder and Pep Guardiola is believed to be a big fan of him.

Hleb made it clear at the end of the season that he would be leaving North London in search of a better deal elsewhere and it seems as if the Camp Nou side will offer him just what he wants.

The Catalonian giants are ready to offer €15m to lure the player away from the Emirates and into the Camp Nou and they will ty and lean on Arsenal and use Hleb’s own desire to leave as an excuse to make the Gunner’s part company with him more easily.

It is likely that Arsenal will play hardball over Hleb and they will do all they can to try and squeeze more money out of the Blaugrana.

It is looking increasingly likely tha Hleb will waer the Azulgrana jersey next term given his penchant to leave North London.
