Good news for Catalunya, bad news for Castilla.

Alves: I Arrived A Boy And Leave A Man
Quote:
Daniel Alves left Sevilla in tears after saying his goodbyes to the media on Tuesday before he flies north to finalise his transfer to Barcelona.
The Brazilian was emotional during the press conference and explained that he had become a man at the Andalucian club after joining as a youngster.
After enjoying five-and-a-half seasons with Sevilla, Alves made it clear that he wanted to move and when Barça offered €32m plus increntives, the wheels were set in motion.
"I want to thank the president for opening the doors of this club to me and giving me the chance to grow. I am what I am thanks to Sevilla. I joined as a boy and leave as a man, as the father of a family," Alves said, with tears rolling down his face.
"It is difficult to leave a home after five-and-a-half years and the truth is that it will be complicated.
"I just want to thank everyone for what they have given me and the club will always have a place in me heart. What I have been through here will be impossible to repeat anywhere else."
Alves was philosophical about the future of Sevilla as he stated that he believes the club will continue to go from strength-to-strength without him.
"I would like to return to the Sánchez Pizjuán one day, it is a place I will never forget. But as the president said, life goes on," he added.
"Football is always moving and clubs continues and Sevilla will keep on growing like it has been. They have sold players before and still won five trophies."

Barca are doing the right buys like Madrid did before 07/08 season.
If Guardiola can weld this new team together, they'll be extreamly difficult to beat next season.
Barca missed teamspirit and continuity last season, but WHEN they get that back, they'll get the results back again.
No doubt that they've the players to win again. Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Messi, Alves, Eto'o, Ronaldinho still in the club + all the new faces.

Team spirit is definately one of the main things missing with this team, I personally don't think we need so may personnel changes, like trying to sell Eto'o for example.
Alves presented today.

Remember Guti and Raul from 2004 to 2006. All believed they were gone forever, but when they got the teamspirit back, they rised and fought extreamly back.

What Barca need. The trademarks in their play when they were the best team in Europe was the way the FB attacked, something (IMO) that the team has not had for a couple of years.
Can't wait to watch him.

Alves Out For Two Weeks
Quote:
Daniel Alves will be out of action for at least two weeks after picking up a shoulder injury during Barcelona's Champions League victory against Wisla on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilian international fell awkwardly after a challenge midway through the second half and after some brief treatment on the pitch was taken off.
Tests have been carried out and the injury is not as serious as was first feared with doctors confirming that Alves has only strained his shoulder joint.
While the knock will mean that he is unable ot play in the Catalan club's annual Trofeo Joan Gamper game against Boca Juniors atv the weekend he will be ready for the start of the season.
Medics at Camp Nou were predicting that the former Sevilla full-back could be back in time to play against Wisla in the second leg of the European tie, but he may not be risked with Barça four goals ahead.
After being told that Alves would not continue during the game in midweek, Pep Guardiola became frustrated on the bench as Gerard Piqué was called back from warming-up and missed two opportunities to go on.
First the Catalan defender was not changed and then secondly he then had to go back to the bench before finally making his entrance in the 75th minute.

oh no, I hope this is not a sign that the season will be full of injuries.
the injury itself is not serious. caceres or puyol can play in his place against wisla krakov and he will not miss any league matches I think. so the timing of the injury is okay.
