noo. eto'o is no way to stay. Henry/Bojan would be in that position, or maybe a new striker (benzema or adebayor)

as for the LW position, I still have something in me saying ronaldinho might be there! but the more possible options are Henry/giovanni or Silva/Hleb. David Silva would be best.

I am so worried... I won't be satisfied untill I see alves presented at the camp-nou. the garay thing must not happen again.

Hleb ?? he signed for Inter ...

Rafinha is a great shout!!! Rep points for you!

Alves agreed terms with Chelski(possibly twice) and got priced out of the move.

So i wouldn't read too much into that.

Laporta To Handle Alves Talks

Quote:

Joan Laporta is set to personally negotiate a deal that will see Daniel Alves join Barcelona from Sevilla in order to kickstart the club's summer rebuilding programme.

The Blaugrana president believes that he can help persuade the Andalucian club's supremo, José Maria del Nido, to to do a deal for the Brazilian full-back within the next few days.

Sevilla have not put a price on the player's head this season, but Barça are believed to not want to go any higher than €30m and that is why Laporta has now become involved.

His friendship with Del Nido could see an agreement reached where technical secretary Txiki Begiristain or vice-president Marc Ingla may not find one.

Alves is said to be one of the key players for Barça's new look squad under incoming coach Pep Guardiola and Laporta knows that a deal must be reached quickly to avoid becoming involved in an auction with other clubs.

A year ago Chelsea were believed to have had a €36m bid turned down because Del Nido was desperate to keep the player for the team's first soiree into Europe.

Now thought, Alves' desire to leave could well persuade the Sevilla president to relent and allow him his desire to join one of Europe's major outfits.

Barcelona Make Final Alves Push

Quote:

Barcelona are preparing to make one last push to prise Daniel Alves away from Sevilla and are ready to include Fernando Navarro to their higher offer.

The Andalucian outfit turned down a bid of €25m from the Blaugrana last month, but the Catalan outfit are now ready to go back and either sign the player or call the whole deal off.

Alves has known about Barça's interest for four months and has even posed for Sport newspaper with Barça shirt and crest after agreeing a deal with the club.

Joan Laporta wants to make two more signings before a referendum on his future is held in two weeks and believes that Alves would the pinnacle of the summer deals.

Barcelona are going to make a bid of €30m and include a number of incentive-based clauses that could see that amount rise further should the Brazilian continue to perform well at Camp Nou.

If Sevilla are still not convinced then the suggestion is that Barça will buy out the remainder Navarro's contract from Mallorca and include him in a swap deal.

The Blaugrana own ten per cent of their former youth team player and know that Sevilla are keen to land him, despite being put off by the Balearic club's asking price.

Alves himself is intent on leaving the club where he has spent the last six seasons after seeing a lucrative move to Chelsea denied him last summer because president José Maria del Nido wanted him for the Champions League.

Currently with the Brazil national team, the 25-year-old is being kept up-to-date with events back in Spain and is hoping that the two clubs can agree a fee for him.

Goal.com - Barcelona - Barcelona Make Final Alves Push

The final push. The deal will be completed or fall to pieces. If I had to pick a side who will crumble then it will obviously be Barca. They haven't got a RB for next season and del Nido is a genious of holding out for amazing prices, he knows that Barca will probably pay what he asks.

The only real RB option if Barca don't get Alves is David Cortes and I haven't seen a lot of him.

Yeah Barca have apparently agreed a deal that will be 32 + 3 + 30% of Fernando Navarro which might take some of the price.

We'll pay 32m euros, plus 3m euros depending on conditions like winning titles and so on. Also we'll help Sevilla out in their push for Fernando Navarro, Mallorca are asking for 1om but Sevilla want to pay 7m. Barca own 30% of Navarro so we'll include this in the Alves deal, maybe to lower the price slightly.

The most expensive defender of all time. Was he worth it?

well, alves is much more than a defender.

the things he had done in sevilla justify 32 millions, the big question is if he can bring the same things to our team? because he won't have the freedom and responsibilty he had in sevilla anymore and it will cause to some kind of decrease in his effectivity...

with all honesty... I am very very happy. alves is, IMO, by far the best RB in the world, and he is still young. money means nothing when you talk about players like that - lets just celebrate!

oh my god, we have an amazing couple of wingbacks!

True. They say that Alves is 3 players in one. A defender, a midfielder and an attacker and he's almost in all 3 places at once such is his speed and stamina. I've never seen a player who can go from end to end all match long and not look tired, doing it in 50 matches a season.

Messi - Alves combination is going to be mouthwatering

yeah, in some matches I was sure there were 2 or 3 of him on the field... how could he be involved in every attack of the team at his side and yet stop the counter attacks?

wow...Messi & Dani let the season begin!

Alves Signs For Barcelona

According to reports in Spain, Sevilla's Brazilian winger Dani Alves has signed for Barcelona.

Dani Alves is on the verge of signing for the Blaugrana. A deal has been reached but just a few minor details need to be fixed before pen can be put to paper.

Barcelona have managed to strike a deal with Sevilla for Alves following a six hour meeting between Blaugrana and Rojiblanco directors.

Txiki Begiristain and Marc Ingla met with Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido and both parties decided to agree on a €32 million deal which could rise to €35 million depending on how well the wing-back does at Camp Nou.

According to Sport, everything has been cleared and all that is needed is confirmation from both clubs in order to finalise and make the transfer official.

The Spanish paper claims that an inside source has informed them that the deal will be resolved by telephone or fax within the next few hours.

The meeting between the clubs dragged on as Del Nido did not want to part company with his player for anything less than €35m with Barcelona offering less than €30m.

However, Del Nido settled for €32m for Alves to make a €31m profit on the player he signed for $1m from Bahia in 2002.

It is believed that Fernando Navarro will also have the possibility of moving to Sevilla as part of the Alves deal but this has not been confirmed just yet.

Alves is currently in the United States and reports in Spain suggest that the player is delighted with the move and that he cannot wait to begin his new adventure with the Blaugrana.

32m on Alves, 8m on Pique, 16.5m on Caceres and 14m on Keita makes a grand total of 70.5m euros so far without us even getting a winger or striker yet

EDIT: Trim's prices look right, we're still not sure if it's 5m or 8m because they undisclosed the price when it was confirmed.

Alves: I Will Help Barça Back To The Top

Quote:

Daniel Alves has revealed his delight and ambition after having time for his move to Barcelona to sink in and is determined to help the club back to winning ways.

The Brazilian defender is still on international duty with his country, but has admitted that a move to Camp Nou is a dream come true even though he never had any fears it would not happen.

A deal that could reach as high as €38m was struck at the start of the month with Sevilla and Alves believes that everyone is happy that the move finally went through.

"Yes, and I think that all parties are happy with the deal, especially me," he explained. "I am immensely happy because it is a dream for me to become part of a great team and of a great club. It is such an important step in my professional career and in my life.

"It is difficult to express in wor
