Confianza en Rijkaard | SPORT | Barça
After going 9 points behind Real Madrid, Rijkaard is given the vote of confidence by the board.
I'm not sure Barca are planning to fire him. Laporta said Rijkaard can stay as long as he likes and Rijkaard said he wants to see out his contract which is up at the end of next season

Ferrer Tips Rijkaard To Walk Away
Quote:
Albert Ferrer believes that Frank Rijkaard will resign as coach of Barcelona at the end of the season because he would not want to go through another year like the current one.
The former Blaugrana and Chelsea defender is now renowned pundit in the Catalan media and has tipped the Dutch coach to walk away from the stress that is building up around Camp Nou.
Even if Barça go on win either the Champions League, the title or both, Ferrer thinks that Rijkaard is no longer enjoying the job like he used to.
"Although the team may yet win a trophy, I think that Rijkaard will probably decide to go because he has been through a difficult year and will not want to repeat that," he explained.
"If that happens than I would opt for a coach that wants to change the team although not one that wants to change the style that the club is accustomed to."
Ferrer believes that the players are ultimately responsible for results and thinks that while the coach has been looked at, it is within the squad that changes must be made.
"In a situation like this, I would prefer that the situation is changed from within the dressing room, which is where those responsible for the success of the club really are," he added.
"If the team does not work, if there no comeback, then the whole club is dragged down."

Rijkaard now linked heavily to the Chelsea job for next season. Could see a linkup with Henk ten Cate to reunite the old Barca team. They were the perfect combo for us.
I'd quite like to see him there.
