Default MD37: Barcelona 2-3 Mallorca

Sunday 11th May - 20:00 UK - Primera División

Expect a lot of booing. Especially for Eto'o and Deco after it was rumoured they missed the Clasico on purpose.

Barca still need to make sure they get 3 points from the last 2 games. If they lose both and Atletico get 4 points then Atletico will leapfrog Barca into 3rd place.

Rijkaard's last home match. I wonder what the reaction will be like.

2-0 up and quite comfortable after an hour, Rijkaard takes a few stars off, everyone stops trying and they score 3 goals in the last 20 minutes. First 2 goals was not closing down properly which allowed Mallorca to fire in 2 long rangers but you could almost tell what was going to happen on the third goal as the ball was crossed into the box. It swung in slowly and ominously and smelled of a winner. Guiza had loads of time to shake his hips and place the winner into the corner.

I've got to admit I found the Barca crowd quite disgraceful in places. Eto'o was booed throughout the game, his celebration of his goal showed his frustration at this as he blasted the ball into the back of the net about 3 times in anger and walked off moodily. What was he booed for? Probably that he got a yellow card and missed el Clasico, most people think it was on purpose but I guess we'll never really know for sure.

The booing has also probably ended Giovani dos Santo's Barca career as he was considering a move to Man City and so got booed so that's probably sent him over the edge now.

Even the gracious fall, weird to think Barce was untouchable for two too three years with only the Mighty Chelsea could stop them.

Shame, be interesting to see them next year.

You can call Chelsea 'Mighty' the day they've won CL. Probably after you have kicked ManUtd in Moscow.

personally, I felt proud of the barcelona fans(not the team) in this match. the booing to the players who are guilty for the bernabeau thrashing and cheering for the players who realy gave it all this season.
eto'o was booed for the yellow card he got against valencia because his ego didn't let him clap for the madrid players, deco as well. it was eto'o's own faul all that happened after the goal he scored... he should have done like deco, run away quietly in half time and disappear.
one interesting thing was how the fans cheered for henry... I think half of them were booing him and the other half clapping...

puyol , pinto and the other defenders were awful. I wouldn't mind if puyol leaves anymore...

Puyol needs to step up a gear I think. He needs to get his form back on track and needs to work with Guardiola to become a ball breaker and be more of an authority figure to the players rather than a friend.
