¡Milito llegó a pasar revisión médica con la Juve! - SPORT - Barça
Milito says that he actually completed 2 medicals this summer, one with Barca and one with Juve. He passed both and passed Zaragoza's 4 years ago and famously failed the Real Madrid one which he is still bitter about.

I've never seen a poorer defender than G.Millito in the first half against Norway at Ullevall. Everytime he had the ball, he did errors.

He was terrible, indeed, but he was played out of position. He is clearly not a left back, but you should expect more from a class player.

He wasn't bad or unlucky, but horrible. Leftback or not...he did plenty of youth errors and so slow.
But I reckon he will be defender of the year in La Liga after critism from us.

Milito to be out for six months
Quote:
Gaby Milito will be out for six months due to damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee which was diagnosed after the Champions League game.
According to the club’s medical services, "after the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford Gaby Milito reported discomfort in his right knee which called for a clinical exploration and additional testing. The tests show that the player has damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee."
Operation next week
The medical report also stated that “FC Barcelona’s medical services and Dr Ramon Cugat have decided to perform arthroscopic surgery next week on the knee. After the arthroscopy it will be possible to be more specific about how long the player will be unable to play for, which is expected to be around six months."
Assuming that this is correct, the Argentinean defender, who this season has played in 42 official matches, will be able to return to action at the beginning of November.

HOW MANY 6 MONTHS INJURIES CAN 1 CLUB HAVE, THAT'S 9 IN 4 YEARS
Beside the overeaction this was news a few days ago but i forgot to post it in shock
Means Barca will definately get 2 CB's in the summer. One quality one and maybe a backup one.

Interesting... didn't Real pass on the option to sign him a couple of years ago cos he had dodgy knees?
Maybe they dodged a bullet.
(Or maybe I'm talking out of my arse )

That's right kyan, and people laughed about Real Madrid again because of that episode.
Milito has been shit for Barca. He is not good enough if the catalans shall be a superpower inside football again. So this was perhaps just healthy for Barca.

Well the story was apparently that Madrid agreed to sign him but pulled out due to him not being a "Galactico" at the time, he later then signed for Zaragoza.
Milito says himself that his medical went fine and everything was set to be confirmed until the results came back about his injury and so Madrid pulled out of the move. Maybe they saw something in the results they didn't like or maybe they did actually pull out due to the Prez not wanting no name defenders at the time, possibly bullshit, I'll just pretend inside my head that the Galctico story was true tho .

Also I don't think Milito is a shit defender. He's one of the best in La Liga and Europe yet he's not been great for Barca so far. The only excuse I can find for this is that him and Puyol are too similar to work well as a partnership which is a theory that a few people in this thread were predicting before he'd signed.
Maybe a coincidence but Milito was great at the start of the season when Puyol was injured til November and Milito was forced to play with Marquez at CB which was a great partnership. Abidal was also great at the start of the season tho and crap in the second half so maybe it was just the entire team on a downer.

'One of the best in Europe' .. that's a bit too strong words IMO.
He had a couple of good seasons for Saragossa, but he was never at the same level as Terry, Ferdinand, Puyol, Ramos, etc...
Argentina played Norway in 2007 when Milito had went to Catalunya, and I have never seen such a player at this level do so much errors in one match. On that time he showed that he not would get a good season. He has been too unconcentrated this season.
And about that Galactico thing. Why did Madrid send him to Spain if they not had any intentions to sign him? They would'nt take the risk because he had some errors in his knee that could put him on the sideline for a long while. However, Madrid player or not, I'm glad he never went to the whites.

One of the best in Europe is maybe a bit too strong but I'd say he's definately a top 15 CB, top 10 at a push.
Either way I wish him a speedy recovery and hope his replacement whether it be Garay, his clone Coloccini or traitor Pique can step up.

¡Milito puede estar nueve meses de baja! | SPORT | Barça
His surgery results have come back as a bit of a nightmare and he'll apparently be out for at least 7 months. 9 months if we're unlucky.
We really need to sign someone like Garay or Chivu (Guardiola's favourite CB) now.
