theyd need some defence tho, realistically henry's the most defensive player out of those 4 and put deco and xavi in with them in the centre.... ronaldinho doesnt play lm he plays lf and same with messi but on the rite, its a 4-3-3 and unless rijkaard changes it (which i doubt very much cos its built for ronaldinho)

That might work but you'd need a defensive player in the midfield (Edmilson/Motta) and that leaves only one place for Deco, Xavi, Iniesta and Van Bommel to fight over. The formation they play now (4-3-3) works best for the players they have and I can't see it changing much next season.

........................henry..................... ...eto

....................................deco

ronaldhino........................................ messi

...................................xavi

y cant that work? as for it being to offensive, since when has barca placed an emphasis on defense? not to mention spanish football in general.

villarreal? and it mite rely on its attack rather than its defence but it still has one, just like the brazil team has a back 4 (yes its debatable but for the sake of the debate) and emerson, barcelona normally play with a back 4 and motta/edmilson

Ronaldinho and Messi play much further forward than that though so the team would be really exposed in my opinion. Plus you need to have a hard man like Motta or Edmilson in there to break up the attacks.

i know, just a diagram to demonstrate a potential mid. those players will obviously move around, its hard to show that with a keyboard lol.

true but that would be wasting messi and ronaldinho because not only will they have to tire themselves out by tracking abck as well as getting forward, they wont be in the rite positions on many occasions and cant defend anyway, it works in principle but its not worth it just to include one more attacking player because that means a defensive player has to be sacrificed anyway...

It would never work Henry at Barca because he always goes left hoping to cut inside, Ronaldinho does the same and he wont be too happy if someone is taking his place will he???

that doesnt make a difference, eto'o always floats over to the wings during games anyway, allowing ronaldinho or messi to push more central, its flexible and it wouldnt be a problem at all on that account and i dont think ronaldinho would care anyway

Of course he would care, have you seen how pissed off he gets when he isn't winning. He's the best player in the world and he knows it, noone else is getting near him.

That's because they are normally winning but if they don't then he gets angry

Anyways, I am not saying he doesn't want him to go to Barca but if he does where's the aerial threat and Henry is not going to cover for Ronaldinho and Messi in tracking back, we see for Arsenal he only does that when he loses the ball.

It won't work because there neither Ronaldinho or Messi track back and Barca's fullbacks are poor. Add to that the fact that there will, at times, only be one central midfielder against 3....it can't work unless Barca keep the ball in the oppositions half all game....which won't happen.
