It's a year thing, not a season award.

i never said that..dont make stuff out of it.. i meant that i dont like it when ppl get awards if they didnt even play.. it's meaningless than.. awards should mean something.. i want messi to win when he's had a great year.. not when he's had a great start..and didnt finish it.. not when he's been injured for 8 months of that year.. that's all im saying..

Eto'o's recovery
Frank Rijkaard is confident that Samuel Eto'o will soon be back in action as he his recovery from a meniscus injury continues to go well. "He should start training again in the next few weeks," the Dutchman said. "He is working hard and is very keen to return and to become a key player again."

The return of Eto'o
Samuel Eto'o is set to return to training on Monday after 4 months of recovery work on his own and everyone is expecting him to be fired up for his comeback: "It's normal that when you've been sidelined for a long time you're nervous and keen to return. He has to take his recovery step by step so that he's ready when we need him".

Samuel Eto'o will be back at the club on Monday. After four months of recuperation work, the Cameroonian is about to begin the final stage of his recovery programme.
It was as long ago as September 27, 2006 that Barça fans learned the disturbing news. Samuel Eto'o, the team's top scorer, injured his right knee in the Champions league game against Werder Bremen. He was given five months to recover, and four have already gone by, and now he finally returns to the team.
Training and press conference
Samuel Eto'o is expected back to the club on Monday although it is not yet clear whether he will be training with the rest of the team or on his own. With the return leg against Alavés on Tuesday night, the Monday training session will be held behind closed doors. Whatever happens, the Barça striker is expected to speak to the press after the session.
The injury
It was in the 65th minute of the Champions League game with Werder Bremen that Samuel Eto'o asked to be substituted. In an individual action, just after a right-footed pass from Ronaldinho, he damaged his external meniscus. He was operated on the day after, using the 'knee restoration' technique, which means he can keep the meniscus, but the verdict was bad - at least five months off the field of play, of which he has already completed four.

Samuel Eto'o will no longer work in isolation and on Thursday will start doing some exercises along with the rest of the group. However, he will still not be partaking in the entire training sessions.
Samuel Eto'o is gradually returning to full fitness after breaking a meniscus in his right leg. Doctor Ramon Cugat of the Club Medicinal Services, and the man who performed surgery on the star, was impressed with the player's progress after their weekly Wednesday meeting concluded earlier today.
After analysing the player's progress, which in recent days has involved solitary exercises under the supervision of fitness coaches, the doctors believe the time has arrived for the Cameroonian to start doing some training exercises with his colleagues. He will therefore be joining in with some of Thursday's session, but will be complementing this with the usual series of personalised exercises.
