Who's going to replace Eto'o now? :O
I don't think Barça has any other strikers of that quality.

It is a huge loss, but they have messi, gudjohnson, maxi lopez etc. But they will struggle as with last season they had Larrson but he has now moved on. I still think Barcelona will beat Chelsea at the nou camp though.

I am also sure that Barcelona will win against The Blues - because they have a better team with or without Eto'o.
Samuel Eto'o is a key player and important to this team, but they'll not fall down without him. They have still the solid defence and midfield with Ronaldinho, Xavi, Messi, Giuly, Iniesta and Eidur Gudjohnson, Maxi Lopez and Saviola are not bad strikers.
Barcelona have been extreamly lucky when it comes to injures on key players the last two seasons, so this was just a matter of time.

Xavi, Edmilson, Motta and Ronaldinho have been injured for large parts of the season in the past. and ps Maxi Lopez is loaned out to Mallorca
Obviously it's a bit loss for us but i agree with the above comments. There's still plenty of class left and Saviola and Gudjohnsen are quite decent strikers as well

this shouldnt really affect the chelsea v barcelona games too much, i think they have the quality to cover.... but for african player in the year it could well let essien and drogba overtake him in the running

The club website confirms five months (though only in Catalan and Spanish as of yet). Three months until he can run again, according to the doctors.
Time to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
Javier Saviola, this is your chance to be a hero.

Saviola should be used instead of Gudjohnsen. Gudjohsen looks clumpsy comparing to the rest of the players.

gudjohnsen technically is one of barca's best players, just because he isnt fast and doesnt score 20+ goals doesnt mean hes clumsy or rubbish

To be frank, Barca should be more concerned about La Liga than the Champions Legaue, which is part of the reason they should hope Valencia and Sevilla continue to do well in Europe (up to a point, of course).

As Ronaldhino said,Barca will beat Chelsea b/c the new signings of Chelsea would not have had time to settle-in...We are still to see the world-class performances of Ballack and Sheva in Chesea
