I don't know mate, to be considered a world class player, you must be consistent in your performances, of course everyobody can have a day off or two, but with Ronaldinho over the past 2 seasons, there are more offs days than good performances.

I agree that he is out of shape, but it's pretty much his fault. Yes Rijkaard gave him a lot of freedom, but still, Ronaldinho's attitude was never the best.

Well I just read on the Portuguese press than Milan have offered 20m € for Ronaldinho. I think he would be better off in Italy than in England, but I don't think he'll fit in well at Milan.

He is in the same situation as Adriano for example, if they want to, they can do wonderful things, but their attitude fucks it all up. I don't think Barça will get more than 20m € at this stage. And I'd consider it a good deal, atm Bojan and Messi are better than Ronaldinho (not based on ability, current form only).

Exactly. I was a big fan of Ronaldinho, one of the only reasons why I didn't hate Barça as much.

His dribbles, long range shots, free kicks, through balls. Pure magic.

Yet he still managed to get 21 goals and 8 assists in La Liga last season. Although I agree he can improve, he is still a world class player imo.

Ronaldinho's brother met with Man City directors on Saturday...

I'd imagine City would offer quite a lot in terms of wages too, and a guaranteed starting berth, but I can't imagine this is anything other than an attempt by Shinawatra to show he's putting his money where his mouth is and to "show" they can sign the biggest names, and for Ronaldinho's brother to add another suitor to the list.

If he's got the offers from everyone, I think he'll choose Milan. He's already ruled out Chelsea but not Milan. Milan have been the most curteous to him in all this build-up, we know the heirachy want him and Ronaldinho will be teaming up with Pato and Kaka upfront.

They can offer him the wages, prestige and probably but maybe not the CL football but that didn't bother him when he joined Barca for £18m.

Ronaldinho Wants Us & We Want Him – Berlusconi

Quote:

Ronaldinho is looking increasingly likely to join Milan this summer, and Silvio Berlusconi has admitted that there is a determination on both sides to complete the transfer.

Barcelona star Ronaldinho has endured a miserable season, ridden by injuries and a loss of form, and he is widely expected to leave Camp Nou this summer.

Speculation has been increasing in the Italian media over the past week that Milan are closing in on a deal to sign the 28-year-old, and Milan President Silvio Berlsuconi has now intensified all such talk.

“We are doing everything possible to bring Ronaldinho to Milan,” Berlusconi declared.

“He has said that he doesn’t want to join any other team except for us, the champions of the world.”

A number of teams including Inter, Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with bids, but there are other reasons why Ronaldinho only wants Milan.

“Ronaldinho also has motive to join us because there are so many of his fellow Brazilians here, and because at Milan everyone is treated very well,” Berlusconi explained.

A significant part of me is hoping that the rumoured Milan "dream ticket" of Ronaldinho and Shevchenko actually does materialise.

Though if gossip about the basis of Dinho's current problems is in fact correct, than Milan are one club that might be able to address that effectively, given their very paternalistic approach to virtually everything (the rooms at Milanello don't have minibars).

Dinho's (alleged) drinking isn't the problem in and of itself. It's the (alleged) impact of that on his performance, condition and ability to recover from injury. If those issues all carry over at his next destination, his new employers will be just as annoyed as his current ones.

Question is if Milan would be able to control him and then get him back to form. He could be a waste of space or if they manage to polish him then he could be a diamond again.

El Inter de Milán dispuesto a pagar 25 millones por Ronaldinho · DiarioAs

I'm stirring up transfer gossip here but in reply to Milan apparently enquiring with 20m euros, Inter have enquired with 25m euros. From a Barca point of view a bidding war might be good although ultimately he's 80%-ish to join Milan if he does leave Barca.

Milan Agree Ronaldinho Deal - Report

Quote:

Milan have agreed a deal with Barcelona and Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto De Assis that looks as though it may see the Brazilian line up for the Rossoneri next season...

Reports from both Italy and Spain have suggested that a deal has been reached between both parties for the Brazilian star.

Onda Catalana Radio have claimed that Milan director Adriano Galliani had flown to Barcelona on Thursday and that a meeting took place between him, De Assis, Ernesto Bronzetti and Barcelona director Txiki Beguiristain.

It seems as if Ronaldinho’s brother has been asked the Blaugrana permission to begin working towards a deal which will see the Brazilian move to Italy.

At the moment Roanldinho is tied to the club until 2010 and he has a sensational buy out clause of €125 million. However, it seems as though €20 million will be enough to secure the player’s passage to Milan.

Ronaldinho has been a target for Milan for quite some time and he has been on their transfer wish list since he was at Brazilian side Gremio.

Galliani as well as Silvio Berlusconi have stepped up their interest in 'Gaucho' during his decline in Catalonia, and though they briefly rebuffed the idea of signing him earlier this year, they soon renewed their interest and it seems as if they have now finally got their man.

More rumours. Although I'd be disappointed still if he went for just the €20m that is continually mentioned, that's €7m less than what we originally paid for him.

Galliani: We Have All But Signed Ronaldinho & Sheva

Quote:

Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has declared that the club have all but signed Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko, stating that both are “180 per cent Milan players”.

Over the past week or so, reports in the Italian press have been strengthening that Ronaldinho will be signing for Milan.

Last night sources in both Italy and Spain claimed that an agreement had been reached between all parties to take the Brazilian to San Siro, seemingly after Barcelona and Milan agreed a cut-price deal.

Onda Catalana Radio had claimed that Galliani flew to Barcelona yesterday and that a meeting took place between him, Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto de Assis, middleman Ernesto Bronzetti and Barcelona director Txiki Begiristain.

De Assis has since strengthened talk of an imminent transfer.

“We only want to talk to Milan,” he had confirmed. “He [Ronaldinho] will either go there or stay at Barcelona.”

The Prodigal Son Returns

Meanwhile Milan have also been working hard to bring back old favourite Shevchenko back to the club - with bossed Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani keen to see their former favourite back in a red and black shirt.

The Ukrainian has had a miserable time since leaving to join Chelsea in 2006, and is reported to have made an emotional phone call to Carlo Ancelotti earlier this week, in which he coaxed the coach to re-sign him.

Chelsea are happy to offload him for a lot less than they signed him for, and it seems that the San Siro gates have been opened for him as well after Carletto gave the nod.

Galliani's Rubber Stamp

Galliani has confirmed that both deals are practically done.

“Ronaldinho and Shevchenko are 180 per cent Milan players,” he told journalists last night.

Both players are expected to cost just in excess of 20 million euros each.

Goal.com

Goal.com - AC Milan - Galliani: We Have All But Signed Ronaldinho & Sheva

From baldy himself. Looks almost confirmed that Milan will sign Ronaldinho - his brother says either Milan or Barca so it looks like it's definately Milan.

Looks like Milan will steal Zambrotta and Ronaldinho for around 26m euros and Deco will leave for 10m euros.

A total of 36m euros is quite cheap for 3 of the former best players in the world although former is quite a key word there.

Not surprised.

Sacchi: I Would Not Sign Unprofessional Ronaldinho

Former Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi has blasted Ronaldinho by suggesting that the Blaugrana star has shown a lack of professionalism recently.

Ronaldinho has in the past come under fire for his antics such as missing training or returning back late from international duties and Sacchi admits that he would not sign players who lack such discipline.

The Brazilian looks likely to leave the Blaugrana and move to Milan but the former Parma coach has his doubts.

“Ronaldinho’s professionalism has never really been extraordinary,” Sacchi told Marca.

“He is a gifted player but I don’t think he has taken full advantage of this.

“Now it’s down to him to return to being a great player and to get back fit because he has hardly played this year.

“With me players would have to train, I wouldn’t really be interested in players who don’t work hard.

“I love players who train with passion, discipline and motivation. Other coaches don’t think that hard work is important and they sign players who do what they want.”

It seems as if Sacchi is trying to warn Milan to steer clear of the Brazilian however it may already be too late as the Rossoneri have all but signed the playmaker.

Ronaldinho Agrees Terms With Milan

Quote:

Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto de Assis has confirmed that the Barcelona star has agreed terms over his move to Milan.

On Thursday night Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani revealed that Ronaldinho was “180 per cent” a Rossoneri player.

In the hours since this declaration, the jigsaws in his proposed summer move have continued to fall into place, and de Assis has now confirmed that there is a preliminary agreement between Ronaldinho and Milan.

"In general, Ronaldinho and Milan are in agreement," de Assis told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper goes on to say that the contract will be until 2012, and will net the Brazilian €8million-a-year.

Milan will pay Barcelona between €20-30million, with Ronaldinho buying up the rest of his Barcelona contract.

Milan transfer guru Galliani has also confirmed that a deal has been reached with the 28-year-old, but said that there is still much to discuss with Barca.

"There is a general agreement with the player,” he stated.

“Now a deal has to be reached with Barcelona. Give us time.”

Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti earlier stated today that his club would fight Milan for Ronaldinho’s signature, however the chances of this now look very slim.

Ronaldinho agrees terms with Milan. All that needs to be confirmed now is the price with Barca. Between €20-35m.

Rijkaard Sees Ronaldinho Exit

Frank Rijkard has admitted that he believes Ronaldinho has played his last game for Barcelona and refused to commit his own future to the club.

The Dutch coach was talking on Catalan television when he opened up about what lies ahead for the Brazilian superstar and for himself and he reverted away from his usual conservative style.

When asked whether Ronaldinho would leave in the summer, he replied: "You would have to think so."

Rijkaard was then keen to tell people not to think of the forward in his last few months, but instead for his time as the Camp Nou favourite when he lifted the club single-handedly.

"It is a shame, but I am with him. Nobody should forget everything that he has done for this club. I truly hope that he can go out and show the world that he can still play. That time will come and he will need to react well," the coach said.

"One must remember everything the way it happened. I did not over-protect him. He is a player that never caused any problems."

When asked about his own position, Rijkaard stated that he was only thinking about this season and would see what lies ahead in the summer after talks with the Barça board.

"I am very excited and want to complete my task. They we shall see. The club has always helped me a lot, but we wil have to see what is best for everyone," he continued.

Looking ahead to the trip to Manchester United, Rijkaard is confident that Barcelona can win and believes that will only happen if his side stick to their principles.

"It is a difficult place to go and they have a strong team, but I believe we can qualify. United are a team that will not be afraid. They play like they know and have a strong mentality and a lot of talent," he added.

"They do not complicate things. They will go forward more than in Camp Nou and that could give us a chances. Defending is not our style. We need to worry only about the way we play.
