Ronnie handed one match ban
Quote:
Barcelona star Ronaldinho on Tuesday received a one-match suspension from the Spanish league's competition commission for the red card he received after kicking out at an opponent in Saturday's win over Getafe.
Barca had appealed against the sending off at the Nou Camp which saw the Brazilian, who netted the only goal in the second minute, receive his red card from referee Perez Burrull for trying to kick Getafe defender David Belenguer, despite barely making any contact.
The commission, under chairman Alfredo Florez, found there had been provocation.
A two-game ban could have severely dented Barca's title hopes as they are level on points at the top with Real Madrid with only two games remaining.
Ronaldinho will sit out the game in two weeks time against Espanyol and then return to face relegated Gimnastic Tarragona for a match which could earn the Catalan club their third straight title success.

Spanish league hand Ronnie one-match ban - Yahoo! Sport UK
There was a possibility he'd miss both games but it's only a one match ban due to provacation by Belenguer. Edmilson is definately banned for the Espanyol game due to reaching his yellow card limit and I've read reports that Eto'o was banned and wasn't banned because of his yellow card, I can't tell for sure yet.
There's also a huge fuss in the Barca papers about Van Nistelrooy handballing in Real's first goal at the weekend and that it gave them the foundation for victory but also that he should have been at least yellow carded which would have resulted in a ban in his next game against Zaragoza.

Ronaldinho. Eto'o's future......
I was holding off making a thread on this but I can see it being one of the most common Barca related stories of the Summer.
I'll try and post everything in this thread from today onwards......
Galliani in Spain. Laporta is expected to hold talks with him although not necessarily "transfer negotiations". Galliani also in Spain for Emerson apparently.
Also quoted along the lines of "We will make a formal approach for Eto'o, but only after the Spanish season ends".
80% in a poll think Barca don't need Ronnie (Catalan poll).
Also another poll in el Mundo Deportivo. Selection of socios (club members) were asked on who Barca's Most Valuable Player was. Ronaldinho only got 6% and Eto'o only got 4.33%. They were probably considering this season more as Valdes got 9%

Ronaldinho will stay, no one besides Chelsea will pay to Ronaldinho the salary Barcelona are paying and Mourinho doesn't want him.
As for Eto'o, Barcelona would make a terrible mistake if they let him go, specally when you consider that Saviola will also go and that would leave you with the unproven striker Palacio and Gudjohsen.

Yea, from a Barca perspective Eto'o is more important than Ronaldinho. But why sell Ronaldinho? Allthough granted, I said the same thing about Shevchenko...

Kenyon and Roman would want him though, which is why I don't want him.
Jose has never said anything bad about Ronaldinho, I think Inter and Milan could also pay his wages tbh, maybe Juventus.
I wouldn't mind him, Etoo would never join Chelsea in a million years because of Drogba, so Ronaldinho would be nice, but If he don't stay he's off to Milan.

Oh man, I hope it comes true.
Matrix meet your new prey, Eto'o!
I will be in complete shock if Milan pick up both of them. Its so unMilan like to do so.
However remember, this team did nothing last year, now they are scrambling to fill holes.

I'll also be in shock if Milan pick up both.
We may get one or the other-- maybe-- but both, no.
If somehow Milan ends up with two Barca players, IMO it will be Eto'o (or Ronaldinho) + either Zambrotta or Belletti.
