Barcelona B are currently 2nd in the League, 2 points off top with 7 games left to play. They should almost definately get promoted so Guardiola is doing a good job with them.
Also Oier Olazabal our new star young keeper will almost definately be the Barca no.2 to Valdes next season but Gai Assulin, Jeffren, Chico and Iago might follow him up.

Pep Guardiola's Barcelona B are currently 1st in Tercera V division with 1 game left.
They'll play in a playoffs to see who gets promoted to Segunda B (Division 3).
I think that's a 50% chance of getting promoted as it's a one off playoff game I believe.

Gai assulin is very very talented, I watched him playing for about 10 minutes and becomming the youngest player to wear the Israel NT shirt, when Israel defeated Chile 1-0. He is a classy player but it is apparent that he tries to immitate messi's style of play. the amazing thing is that as much as I had seen, he does pretty well! I'm not sure if in a year or two we could still say he is a copy of messi or maybe an equal player! just the other wing...
I have a dream that 2 years from now barcelona will play with messi on the right and assulin on the left!
but I'm afraid that his popularity, especially in israel, will hurt gai.

Barcelona B To Use Old Name
Quote:
According to reports, Barcelona B have returned to their historical name of "Barca Atletic" for next season after a request from club director Rafael Yuste earlier in the week.
The idea to change the team's name was passed onto the Professional Football League, who approved the new name of the side currently coached by incoming first-team boss Josep Guardiola.
Barcelona's B side adopted the name "Atletic" in their early seventies, and they sported their own unique logo, which had elements of the Barcelona badge.
Barca Atletic merged from two other clubs, Condal and Atletic Catalunya, who were both already associated with Barcelona.
In the 1956-57 season Condal took part in the Spanish First Division. They used to play at Fabra i Coats, in the Sagrera district, which is currently occupied by CN Saint Andreu.
Before that they played their league matches at the Camp Nou and at the Miniestadi. For seventeen years they participated in the Spanish Second Division. This was their most successful period.

Nice idea. The old name sounds better than Barca B. Makes it sound more like a full football club.

Luis Enrique To Replace Guardiola
Quote:
Fernando Hierro has inadvertently confirmed that Luis Enrique has agreed to replace Pep Guardiola as the new coach of the Barcelona B team next season.
The Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) sporting director was asked if the former Blaugrana and Madrid midfielder was going to part of the national coaching staff and he revealed too much.
Barça have yet to make an official announcement about Luis Enrique's return to the club, but talks have been ongoing about him taking a role this summer.
When asked if the 38-year-old had accepted or declined Hierro's invitation to take charge of Spain's Under-19 team, the RFEF official explained why he had turned it down.
"After some meetings with Luis Enrique, he has decided to accept the position of coach of Barcelona B," Hierro said. "He has explained that he is delighted because his plan was to remain near his home and family. He did not want to move.
"I am delighted that he has chosen to coach the Barça B team. It was a decision that Barcelona had already taken, but still needed him to agree to all the terms."
Guardiola was tipped to ask Luis Enrique to be his number two with the first team and it was in those meetings that the idea of him taking over the B team was formed.

Interesting stuff. Guardiola as A team boss and Lucho as B team boss. We're forming our own management dream team

Barça Sign Young Venezuelan
Quote:
Barcelona have signed young Unión Atlética Maracaibo midfielder Franco
The 18-year-old, while highly-rated, will begin his blaugrana career in the reserve team, Barcelona B.
Barça B are currently battling for promotion from the Tercera División to the Segunda División B, and it will be in the latter contest that Fasciana hopes to take part in a bid to strengthen his first team credentials.
The midfielder, born on the 9th of May 1990, broke through to the azulgrana side this season, and has also excelled in the junior national team sides.
Indeed, Sport.es claims that it was his showings with the 'Vinotinto' U-17s that saw Barcelona so interested in his signature.
With negotiations completed, Fasciana will arrive in Catalunya on July 12th.
The player's agent explained, "Several teams in Spain wanted him, but we believe that this club will be a good place to grow."
