Default Ze Castro to Deportivo

Ze Castro Exit Continues Atlético Clear Out

Quote:

Atlético de Madrid's summer clear out has continued unabated after Zé Castro was the latest to leave the club after agreeing to a one-year loan at Deportivo La Coruńa.

The Portuguese defender announced last month that he wanted to leave Vicente Calderón after having limited chances to impress, but was not granted a permanent move away.

After joining the club from Académica Coimbra in 2006, the 25-year-old has made just 22 appearances for los Colchoneros and was becoming frustrated at the club.

His departure sees him team up with former Atlético colleague Mista at Riazor, after the striker was given a free transfer and allowed to join Depor for nothing.

Having signed Tomas Ujfalusi, John Heitinga and Florent-Sinama Pongolle, Atlético know that they have to off-load all the fringe players and have sped the process up.

Fabiano Eller, Braulio, Ismael Falcón, Iván Cuéllar and Raúl Llorente were allowed to leave, before Jurado was loaned to Mallorca on Thursday and Mario Suárez followed him, but on a permanent basis with a buy-back clause.

Now the club want to see three more leave with Giourkas Seitaridis, José Antonio Reyes and Maniche all being told that they are not part of Javier Aguirr'e plans for next season.

I feel sorry for Depor. They wanted a man but got a girl.

I don't know why they want to release Jose Antonio Reyes, Maniche and Seitaridis though.

Reyes didn't have a good season and he whines like a fat baby every week, they probably want some money off him to build the team. Maniche - Aguirre doesn't like, he loaned him out last season. Seitaridis would be a good option to replace one of the new RB's but maybe they think they can get some extra money from him to build as well.

Also another thing on the Zé Castro deal. There's a buy option added for Deportivo who can buy him at any time for 2m euros.
