Default Villa Fans call for Ellis to quit.....

Aston Villa chief Doug Ellis has been urged to quit by fans and shareholders groups to allow the club to grow.
They are keen to see Villa manager David O'Leary given more money to build on this season's unexpected success.

The call has come from Villa Fans Combined (VFC) and the Aston Villa Shareholders Association (AVSA).

"The foundations have been laid but to complete the job Mr Ellis has got to do what is right for the club and go," said a joint statement.

"It is clear that David O'Leary has worked miracles in order to not only ensure Premiership safety but to finish just one place away from European football.

"It is important to note that this was done whilst releasing 14 players and having severely restricted transfer funds.

"If the manager isn't given full backing, protests and dissatisfaction amongst fans and shareholders will grow.

"It is now time for the board of Aston Villa, particularly the major shareholder Mr Ellis who is 80 and has failing health, to actively seek new investors."

O'Leary took over as Villa boss last summer and was told to cut the wage bill in half.

But despite the financial restrictions Villa finished the season sixth in the Premiership, missing out on a place in next season's Uefa Cup on goal difference.

yea, fuck off u old coffin dodger.......
