Crouch: City would be first choice

Striker Peter Crouch admits promoted Norwich would be his first choice if he does not get regular football at Aston Villa.

Crouch, who scored four goals in 15 appearances during a loan spell with the Canaries this season, has been closer to the first team since his return to Villa Park, scoring four goals since the end of January, despite mainly being used as a substitute.

The 23-year-old told the Norwich Evening News: "Things are going well for me at Villa at the moment, and obviously I hope that continues.

"But you never know what is round the corner in this game. I've still got two years of my contract to run but there are a lot of good strikers at this club and if there came a time when I wasn't getting any first-team football then I might have to look at the situation.

"It might happen, it might not - but what I can say now is that if I did ever decide to move on, Norwich City would be my number one choice."
