Default Aston Villa v Chelsea

Aston Villa manager David O'Leary is set to name the team that drew with Bolton when they host Chelsea in the Premiership on Monday.

O'Leary said: "The players are tired but they will have to do it all again as I have only a small squad to call on."

Striker Peter Crouch looks certain to start after scoring against Bolton as Juan Pablo Angel has a knee injury.

Villa (from): Sorensen, de la Cruz, Mellberg, Ridgewell, Samuel, Barry, Hendrie, McCann, Hitzlsperger, Crouch, Vassell, Dublin, Postma, Whittingham, Johnsen, Moore.

Chelsea will be without Claude Makelele for Monday's trip to Aston Villa after the Frenchman was stretchered off against Middlesbrough

Manager Claudio Ranieri, having conceded the Premiership title to Arsenal, now admits he his "highly concerned" about knee-injury victim Makelele who could even miss the exciting climax to Chelsea's Champions League bid.

Ranieri admitted his decision to omit Damien Duff, Scott Parker, Wayne Bridge and Mario Melchiot on Saturday could have cost second-placed Chelsea two vital points and all should start at Villa Park.

Ranieri may well also change his strike force, bringing in Adrian Mutu and Hernan Crespo for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Eidur Gudjohnsen while midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is likely to be among the substitutes again after making his comeback from the bench on Saturday after five months out with back trouble.

Chelsea (from): Ambrosio; Gallas, Melchiot, Terry, Desailly, Bridge, Lampard, Parker, Cole, Veron, Geremi, Duff, Melchiot, Mutu, Crespo, Huth, Gudjohnsen, Hasselbaink, Babayaro, Sullivan.

That was one of the best performances i have seen from Aston Villa in a while they were awesome. Thomas Hitzlsperger took his goal very well. And overall it was a good team performance
