Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is ready to make an offer for young Real Valladolid goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. Asenjo, 18, has been scouted several times this season by many Premiership clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa. The youngster's Valladolid buyout clause is an affordable £3.3 million.

Liverpool have agreed to drop their asking price for goalkeeper Scott Carson. The Mirror says Carson has edged a step closer to leaving Liverpool after Rafa Benitez agreed to drop his £10million asking price to around £6m - with Villa set to land him full-time. Villa boss Martin O'Neill has already spent £1.75m on Carson as part of the loan arrangement that took him to Villa Park for the season.

Aston Villa remain interested in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Bernd Schneider. Now 35, Schneider is seen as a potential calming influence on Villa's young midfield by manager Martin O'Neill.

Aston Villa are lining up a bid for Manchester City captain Richard Dunne. The Express & Star says Villa are weighing up a move for £6m-rated City defender Richard Dunne as boss Martin O'Neill looks to bolster his back four. Dunne, who has been City's player of the year for the last four seasons, has a year left on his £28,000 a week contract and has refused to sign a new deal.

A move for Robinson to Aston Villa, in the market for a goalkeeper after deciding not to pay the £10m demanded by Liverpool for Scott Carson, is the most likely option for Villa finding them a new no1 goalkeeper.

All depends on what happens with Joe Hart, i hope he stays at Man City.
