bolton 1-1 aston villa
absolute gash performance...
didnt deserve anything out of the game apart from ridicule... how we got a point, i will never know..
not one player put in anything that even resembled the level of a pub team performance and im disgusted with both the players and the manager..
to set us up as he did in the first half, pretty much screamed that we were playing for a draw and we ended up playing exactly like we did under david o'leary...
not for the first time we have played just as poor this season either... the longer the season goes on, the more im reminded of o'learys final season...
im sick to death of this kind of piss poor negative tactics from the manager, and then the managers piss poor signings, cocking up time and time again...
although today, it was every single player who were absolute crap...
defence were all over the place.. mistake after mistake and no clue on how to deal with the bolton attack... the midfield were weak in the middle and offered nothing out wide.. and the attack had no movement and no service...
taylor - 5 - best villa player and he saved us from some defensive cock ups, but tbh, the way he came for crosses would be comical if it didnt scare me so much..
mellberg - 3 - couldnt handle diouff, kept hoofing the ball and just looked like his head was elsewhere... maybe his head is elsewhere.. his next club when his contract runs out...
laursen - 4 - mistakes galore, but at least he tried to rectify his mistakes...
knight - 2 - absolutely pathetic... again... mistakes made then lazily watched as the opposition waltzed through...
bouma - 4 - poor going forward, and poor defensively...
young - 4 - he tried, but had poor distribution and wasnt effective with his running...
barry - 3 - worst performance in ages... poor passing, lost the ball a lot and offered nothing defensively...
petrov - 2 - paper thin defensively and offered nothing going forward... a wasre of a shirt number, but he wasnt the only one today...
osbourne - 3 - poor passing, couldnt hold onto the ball and might as well not have played...
maloney - 4 - attempted to run at people, but had no end product.. a couple of chances makes his rating higher...
agbonlahor - 3 - poor movement again... his lack of intelligence will stop him becoming a star...
subs...
berger - 3 - poor control, poor passing.. not match fit yet though...
moore - 4 - scored, although he had no idea about it...
overall, absolute crap...
all we did was prove how far we are away from where the owner and chairman want us to be.. this after a season and a half and with the managers squad choice...
im not accepting excuses like the commentators tried to make about small squads... this is the managers squad after 3 transfer windows and this squad is built with the managers choices for both incomings and outgoings... his choice on how many brought in, and his choice on how many have left....
im also not accepting excuses about negative tactics like today... and for several games previous...
the manager picked the players, the manager picks the tactics and at the moment, and for several games this season, neither are working... and there is only one man who has had the ability to influence both since he took charge at the club...
personally, and as i have said all season, europe is a million miles away... but at the moment, i can see comfortable top ten being too far out of our reach on recent performances.. and without comfortable top ten, we will make no progression and the feeling of deja vu becomes all too familiar...
