Default Aston Villa v Sheff Utd

Quote:
The Blades are currently three points clear of the drop zone with two games remaining in their first campaign back in the top-flight.

Depending on how results go elsewhere, Neil Warnock's side could be celebrating Premiership survival on Saturday night.

Villa are already safe, and have now set their sights on claiming a top-ten finish in Martin O'Neill's first season in charge.

With an away fixture at Bolton to follow, Villa will be hoping to end the season on a long unbeaten stretch, having already gone seven games without defeat.

O'Neill is unlikely to make any changes to the side that beat Manchester City 2-0 last time out, so Ashley Young should keep his place.

Shaun Maloney, who scored after coming off the bench at Eastlands, picked up an ankle injury in the game and will be missing on Saturday.

United will be at almost full-strength for the trip to Villa Park, with Rob Hulse the only absentee with a knee injury.

Various players have suffered knocks during the week, but none are serious enough to keep them out of action this weekend.

looking forward to this..

taking my missus, the euro 82 team will be there (25 years too late, but the old owner held long grudges), and we get a free scarf!

should be a good atmosphere..

Ashley Young should do well against either full back. I hope he scores.

looking promising and showing glimpses of what we can expect in the future...

if consistant with it, it will be 9.6 mil well spent...

what a day...

the weather was beautiful, the atmosphere was electric, the football even better....

seeing the 82 side parading around villa park, was a sight to behold...

a 25 year grudge from one petty old man, put to rest, and we could finally put a sorry quarter of a century behind us and move on to the next step...

i really felt like yesterday was going to be the "first day of the new era", for many reasons and the day lived up to my expectations and then some...

would like to credit the sheff utd fans for being superb before, during and after the game... some friendly banter in the pubs, some friendly banter going towards the ground, they sang even when losing and playing badly, as well as a fantastic conga that was stupidly stopped by the stewerds for some reason, then the were all very respectful after the game... had to give them a clap as i walked past their coaches and i can safely say that they have been the best fans to come to villa park all season of the games i have attended...

all in all, a fantastic day....

All the goals were great, Agbonlahor's was a superb strike and he showed great strength & composure for it.

Berger looks like a renewed player, his touches and 1-2 leading to his goal were great.

Encouraging end to the season for Villa.
