there are thoughts floating about ellis and neville being in cahoots...
if they are, and neville has no backers, then they have lied to bump up the share price...
as neville hasnt revealed his backers and they havent been leaked to the press, like lerners were (possibly by someone inside the club) and has only come out at the very time that randy lerner has shown a solid interest, its a theory...
although this has no proof to it whatsoever, and im not saying this is what has actually happened...
but the theory is further backed up by the fact that he came out around the same time last year and although his deal failed, he didnt let anyone know that his backers had pulled out, which led to ellis being able to hide behind stock exchange regulations with regards questions at the agm and for the further 12 months after that....
apart from that, there is nothing legally that we can do, but it does make us mistrust neville....
the board should be ashamed though... they are not looking out for the shareholders interests for fear of being booted out by ellis...
i have boycotted for years..
was hoping to be able to make the decision to go back this season, but alas, that will not happen now...
but, even if we are struggling in league 1, i will be back as soon as ellis goes...
there are many many fans who are boycotting and those numbers are growing by the day...
last i heard, only about 12k had bought season tickets and i fully expect 25k or under as our average attendance....
tbh, im at my lowest as a villa fan that i have ever been...
from what i have heard about lerner, he would have been a godsend...
he didnt want a debt restructure and we were minutes away from being owned by a man (apart from due diligence) that is everything ellis is not...
someone who hires the right people to do their job, then leaves them alone to do it..
someone with ideas on how to market the villa to a mass market...
someone who would have invested his own money, heavily into the first team...
now while the money would have been very nice, its not the be all and end all...
the plans he had for the future were simply brilliant...
but the fact that ellis fucked this deal up when it was quite simply the best deal that we could have ever wished for, and one that ellis told us all was not out there, is indictive of the man and tbh, thats a major major concern for all of the other bids out there...
ellis was getting more money from this deal, villa were getting the best deal possible and we werent going to assett strippers, the wrong people, etc, etc....
the guy more than met every criteria that ellis had put the blockers on previous deals for...
and then some...
but the fact that he demanded to stay in his role once the new people came in, as a condition of the sale and the way he spoke to the man he was allegedly selling to ie, "when you buy this club, you will answer to me", suggests heavily, that he either doesnt want to sell, or if he does actually sell, then we wont actually be rid of him...
which is why i dont think any bid will be successful...
