Pennant winging his way to Leeds
Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant will on Monday join Leeds United on a two-month loan deal, Whites chairman John McKenzie has confirmed.
The England Under-21 international, who was linked with a move to Elland Road over the summer, will join the Yorkshiremen until mid-October after struggling to make an impact at Highbury.
Pennant has already agreed to the move and the loan arrangement should be finalised once the former Notts County star has passed a medical.
McKenzie said: "We are delighted that Jermaine Pennant has agreed to join Peter Reid's squad, as we believe he could be an excellent addition."
Pennant, who was also named in the England Under-21 squad for their match against Croatia on Tuesday, has struggled to break into Arsenal's starting line-up, having started only two league games since his 1999 arrival from Notts County.
However, he could walk straight into the Leeds side, with the Reid's side being forced to play left winger Jason Wilcox on the right-hand side of midfield in Sunday's clash with Newcastle.
