Arsenal are being linked with a sensational swoop for Real Madrid striker Raul, who is keen to try his luck in the Premiership. Raul has been with the Spanish giants all of his career but according to reports in Spain, the striker is considering a move away and has targeted the Premiership. The 30-year-old would command a sizeable fee but the Gunners would be able to finance the deal after revealing record profits. Boss Arsene Wenger will have as much as £70million to spend on new players when the January transfer window opens and a sizeable chunk could go towards landing Raul.

That would be great if it happened. He's cup-tied to Real but his presence would take some of the load off Adebayor and allow him to play more in the ECL, so it will be good in all competitions.

I haven't heard anything about this either, but I like Diego a lot. He's really been on fire for Werder Bremen this year and is beginning to realize his vast potential. I doubt there's really anything to it, but it would be great if it happened.

This hurts to say but Owen is very unlikely to return to his good days. Getting him would be money spent badly.. especially, when there are better options out there like Kevin Doyle or Dean Ashton.

Wenger lines up Russian

Arsenal are said to be lining up a swoop for Russia captain Andrei Arshavin after his agent confirmed offers from England.

The highly-rated 26-year-old has been in impressive form and his displays for Russia against England during the Euro 2008 qualifiers appear to have caught the eye of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The playmaker has also been in fine form for his club Zenit St Petersburg and his agent Pavel Andreev has confirmed that three clubs have come in with offers for his client.

One of the offers is believed to be from Arsenal, while arch rivals Tottenham are also thought to have put an offer on the table.

"We have three offers, all from big European teams," Andreev told Sport Express. "Now we're considering the pros and cons."

Wenger eyes Pele's son

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Marseille winger Andre Ayew but they are unlikely to land him during the current window.

The French born Ghana star, son of ex-Marseille star Abedi Pele, is currently away representing his country in the African Cup of Nations.

The 18-year-old is not due to return to Marseille until after the end of the month so a move is unlikely to happen until the summer at the earliest.

Marseille are thought to want around £5million for the youngster who has now become a regular in Erik Gerets first team but there would be severe competition for his signature.

"Arsenal have sent scouts to watch him almost every week," revealed a source close to Ayew.

Porto ace linked

Arsenal are being linked with a £20million raid for Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma at the end of the season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger kept his cash in his pocket during the transfer window and reports claim that he is saving it for a summer spending spree which will involve Quaresma.

Wenger believes he has enough quality in his squad to reclaim the Premiership title this season but that does not mean he is not keeping an eye on the future.

Bayern Munich are moving for Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini. The Daily Mail says Flamini is out of contract in the summer and, despite talks over a new deal at The Emirates starting in December, no agreement has yet been reached.

Arsenal are planning a £12 million bid for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. The 6ft 5in PSV stopper, 27, signed a new long-term contract in December. But Arsene Wenger is desperate for a top-class keeper after below-par displays by Manuel Almunia and Jens Lehmann proved costly.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has again run the rule over Olympique Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa. Arsenal scouts watched the 21-year-old winger in Lyon's 1-1 draw with Rennes at the weekend.

Jonathan de Guzman has declared he intends to quit Feyenoord in the summer.

He told Sportweek magazine: "I haven't spoken with anyone yet. Not with Feyenoord and also not with other clubs. It is said that there is interest form Chelsea and Arsenal.

"My dream clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If clubs of their stature are interested then you can't say no.

Guimaraes striker Kamel Ghilas is interesting Arsenal. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is weighing up a bid for the young Algerian. The former Cannes player has been impressing with Portuguese top division club Vitoria Guimaraes this season. He can play in central midfield, on the left side of midfield or as a forward.
