Well it may not be as serious as it first looks, who knows.
I remember last season when someone tackled Pepe and it looked like he had broken his foot, even left the pitch crying, but he got fit in a matter of 3 weeks.
Hopefully this is the same case.

i doubt it, but lets all hope thats the case, coz from the way they treated him and how long it took that tells you some thing coz the same kind of thing happened wth smith.
well lets all hope its just a broken area and nothing too serious.

Horrific injury, hope Eduardo doesn't take too long to get back, it's never nice to see a broken leg.
BUT there's a LOT more to be discussed about this game than just the injury.
Firstly, Arsene Wenger has said Martin Taylor (who made the tackle) should never be allowed to play football again. I think this is a huge overreaction, it was a late tackle but it wasn't malicious, the guy was clearly horrified when he realised Eduardo's leg was broken and he didn't argue with the red card.
Secondly, is Gallas captain material? That was pathetic, he's supposed to be their leader and as soon as B'ham got a penalty he walks to the other end of the pitch, sits down and cries. What if McFadden had missed and Gallas wasn't back there to defend? And imagine how it makes the rest of the team feel when they see their captain react like that, especially Clichy who has been phenomenal this season but is still only 19/20. Gallas should be teaching him, not throwing the toys out of the pram and blaming him for a result.
Arsenal showed lots of their flaws today, other than Gallas showing what a great teamplayer he is, Adebayor did something similar. If he'd have passed to Bendtner when it was a 2 on 1 situation Bendtner could have scored an open goal but Adebayor went alone and the keeper saved it. That wasn't the only time Adebayor was selfish instead of looking for a pass. It seems he's more interested in outscoring Ronaldo than he is in winning games sometimes, that could be very costly.
For the record, it wasn't a penalty, not that I'm complaining, this is a huge boost to United, with so many games left, including one at OT, if/when United beat Newcastle tonight the gap will only be 3 points.

it wasnt??wow i didnt see the game but from what i have been reading in soccernet they say it was harsh challenge fro clichy.
and on what wenger said it may be out of pure anger but as kyan pointed taylor did look worried and that show he wasnt in for a players leg.
Quote:
Of Eduardo's injury, Wenger added on Sky Sports: 'His injury is very, very bad.
'More than the season is over.'
|
on his injury.
Quote:
Blues boss Alex McLeish said of the challenge: 'Martin's distraught about the lad's injury.'
'It's certainly not in Martin Taylor's make-up at all to commit a malicious tackle.'
|
the other sides story.
well taylor may be called in for an investigation and probably get suspended not just for the card but at the same time his punishment wont either be for a intent causing injury too.its most probably just a reminder kind of punishment not in any way like what wenger is thinking.

If it's a clean break then he will be recovered in about 2.5 months. (May)

hahahah... its obviously a clean break!!!!!!!!!! its a compound fracture of at least one of his lower leg bones (tibia and/or fibula), you can SEE the bone protruding from his sock. this same looking break happened to djibril cisse at liverpool, for those of you who remember.
horrible challenge... should get suspended. but wenger has overreacted. i honestly dont feel there was malice there. taylor was just going in hard.
adebayor... absolutely disgraceful match. one of the most selfish performances ive ever seen. if i would have been bendtner, i would have battered him on the pitch (it would have been immature and idiotic, but that is what his play deserved today).
gallas... i have no words... disgrace. wenger should take his armband, no questions asked.
arsenal... falling apart it seems. last weekend in the fa cup, they looked awfully immature... this week, it has gotten worse!!!
lastly, i hope that eduardo can come to a full recovery... he has really been excellent the second half of the season... he will be a tremendous player.

Are we seeing another Arsenal team fall apart? It's the same story, they can't cope with the pressure and start turning on each other, such is their ego's. It's seems a like a genetic flaw that most Wenger teams have.
The opposite of SAF teams.

He should receive a lengthy ban. It was malicious. The fact he made contact high up rather than simply swiping away like most tackles proves it was reckless.

The tackle was awful.
You have to wonder if players get told how to tackle these days, the amount of terrible takcles you see in the PL is worrying. Of course maybe it's about the pace of the game.

I agree. Saying that he should never play again is rediculous. Honestly all it is is a mistimed challenge. Honestly i think he was unlucky to get the red card. Obviously with the freak injury that occured the ref thought the foul was much worse then what it really was.

I dont c how its a misplaced challenge. He attacked from the top and came down, instead of sliding in on the player which is how your suppose to tackle.
The only real question is whether it was intentional or not. Probably not, but hack defending like that should be punished severely to discourage it from happening again.

I don't think I've ever agreed more with one of your posts.
My take on the tackle is that it was just mistimed with very unfortunate consequences.
Only last weekend did we see Edaurdo receive a yellow card for a knee high studs up lunge on Nani, IMO that tackle was worse: too many people are judging Taylor on the result of his tackle rather than the tackle itself.
