game over.
Rosario 1 | 1 Boca

crap first half, much better second half... riquelme woke up a bit late into the game, ischia made bad substitutes taking out cardozo and palacio which let rosario have more freedom to attack imo.

not the best start for the tournament.........

Clausura MD2: Boca Jrs. 4 - 0 Argentinos Jrs.

a big win at home in la bombonera. wonderful performance of the team!!

Riquelme is my man of the match. totally different from what we saw last week. including another genious assist to palacio (again) in the second goal... 2 assists in 2 games and what 2 assissts!
Palermo scored a great strike after an ibarra back header. palacio was good too.
leandro greacian and jesus datolo went in in the second half and both scored. datolo's goal came after a 5 shots on target attack including one beautiful chilena... while gracian's goal was from the penalty spot after a foul on alvarito gonzalez.

Default MD3: San Martin 0 - 2 Boca

MD3: San Martin 0 - 2 Boca Juniors

MARTIN PALERMO 2 goals!

very important 3 away points against uneasy opponent (who had won both games before this one). without ibarra and cardozo...

lucas castroman made his debut. he wasn't expected to start untill next week but he did. I was not impressed by him, I didn't realy like his style of play and he seemed too slow (still not fit I guess)...

palermo scored from the only chance we had in the first half, palacio who was great, assisted with his head. several amazing saves of caranta in the first half left the score on 1-0 untill HT.

in the second half we were playing much better. we were close to score ore goals even though san martin had many chances aswell... palermo didn't need much to score his 2nd, and to become 1 goal away from the #1 goalscorer of Boca Juniors in history!

riquelme wasn't great yesterday...

After Matchday 14, Boca Juniors are placed 6th in the Clausura table and are still in the Copa Libertadores... in the quarter finals atm, versus Atlas (Mexico).

It had been an awful tournament for the team. losing too many points, especially away from home. showing very weak performances, almost in every match. the attack was shameful. Riquelme was the only player who was realy good but he missed more than 3 quarters of the league matches!
the title seems impossible now. river plate and estudiantes are only 4 points ahead but they are on much better form (especially estudiantes), san lorenzo as well are very hot atm after their bad start to the season... unless riquelme gets on shape again and plays all the remaining matches we can't get it.
one good thing, though, was the victory in the super-classico... we got a 1-0 in a low class match of football...

in the Libertadores, things are just a bit better. the group stage was no good, we finished second in not a group that is not too tough... in the last 16 stage we had 2 great matches against cruzeiro(Brasil) and now we have Atlas to beat away in order to proceed... the first leg ended with a disappointing 2:2 in la bombonera.

*MD15: Boca - Racing, Tonight.

This is once again shaping up to be a much more exciting competition than its European counterpart.

I imagine that Sao Paulo's elimination is going to increase the talk of Adriano coming back to Europe. I continue to believe that all parties would be better off if a deal could be worked out for him to stay in Brazil.

I very much agree.

Astonishing performance by Boca in Guadalajara Mexico on wednesday with a hat-trick of the amazing palermo within 18 minutes(!) with another phenomenal performance of Juan Roman Riquelme - who is only playing in the libertadores matches.... and boca are in the semi-finals!!!!

next opponents: Fluminansa who defeated sao paolo in the brasilian derby.

MD17::Boca 3-1 Arsenal
a beautiful win with the 2nd team playing plus many (impressive) youngsters.

watch Mauro Boselli's amazing hatttrick......including a cracking chilena(the 3rd goal)

boca are 4 points behind river now with 2 matches left. hard to believe they can do it.

*there were odd rumors that ronaldinho might be loaned to boca juniors but it turned out to be nothing.

*rodrigo palacio left the club and it seems he will play for Lazio next season.

* Fabian vargas declined an offer from Maccabi Tel Aviv. and will stay another season in boca.

* Ischia will call 8 new players from the youth team for next season!

he's a 24 year-old central midfielder, can play as attacking midfielder also but he didn't play that in boca.

good technique, good passing, has good shots from distance, very good tackler.

he's not slow and has some pace, even though he looks abit sleepy.

what can I say more? he's not that good in the air, not physical. is not that good at long balls.

can you tell me what was the fee?

I checked Catania's and Boca's website and no fee is mentioned.

2.5 million euros is cheap... but I'm not too sad that he's gone.

According to the Argentine press and Goal.com, Benfica are now showing interest in Rodrigo Palacio of Boca Juniors. To me I would find it as a great signing. Goal.com - Argentina - Benfica Join Race For Palacio
