i'm seeing sigs with pics so i'm not sure what the issue is?

The issue that everybody is discussing is mainly my fault..........
But what the hack does is say if you post more than once on a thread your sig only appears once on that page.

Im saying that the people who seem to have the biggest problem with the sig thing, are people who are on the site less then anyone else..Ya youve been a memeber of the site long, and thats respectable...and some of us have only been here less then a year, but we are on here hours a day posting, and growing the site..we are the ones that are here the most and alot of us like the sigs

I said it once, and I'm saying again.

Go to your User Control Panel and disable the sigs if you don't want to see them.

We want to see them, and that's why we don't like this hack.

I like the hack, I see your sig of Ribery, but I don't need to see more than once per page. Honestly, grow up, its called a compromise between those that do and those that don't.

I personally do not use Signatures because i don't want people at work to see a bunch of soccer pictures and know i'm slacking off lol. I personally, don't care either way, but we have many Graphics forums/threads dedicated to members making pictures/sigs/avatars. And just as that section is FINALLY growing...we install this feature?

I think the site will look inconsistent and awkward with one signature per page. But, if you want to attract serious posters...having one signature per page is not the way to do it. It's called controlling the amount of childish behavior on here that drives the mature posters away from TS. Being in your 20's on TS can be VERY frustrating at times with the immaturity...that's what pushes members away, not a silly signature. As members have said...there's an option to disable signatures. This makes no sense to me. But i don't use sigs so i just wanted to share my input.

Haha the compromise is that you can turn them off if you dont like them...if we didnt have that feature i would be on your side, but if you dont like them no one is making you look at them, but now people who like them are being pushed out

I see your side of it Jager. Just giving my thoughts. Regardless I will be on this site, but just speaking my thoughts and for my freind. A lot of the guys doing avatars and putting hours in like there work displayed, even if it is over and over. So that was my line of thinking.

i like seeing the sigs, but not ten times a page
and to FR, you make no sense with your hypothesis
things don't look uniform???
as opposed to seeing the same sig five times a page??
take a look at some of the team threads in the calcio section
i see jager's sig ten times a page
why do i need to see it that much??

bravo to jager and the admins for showing some initiative, even an unpopular one, since in the long run the forum benefits

Sucking up wont do you any good Again its not that the sigs HAVE to be displayed its that the SHOULD be displayed...the name of the picture is "SIGNATURE" its you "SIGNING" your post with a picture. And not to be a dick, but why do you care? In 5 months this is the first thing ive ever seen you post on.

People seem to be missing the point.

This isn't about people not wanting to look at sigs, it's about making the site run smoother and quicker.

More images = more memory = a slower running site.

How many people on this site are running dial up, and really how big of a difference is it going to make for someone who is on dial up...their page is going to take 2 mins to load regardless...you might be saving them a couple seconds, so it only takes like 1:30 to load instead of 2 mins...but the majority of people are on High speed of some sort now

Two things.

One: The image has one link, once it's loads, it displays in everypost at the same time. Considering we have cookies, you load the image once in while.

And this doesn't slow the site at all.

It all depends on your computers graphics and ram memory.

Two: I said once, twice, and I'm saying this again, for the last time.. Anyone who doesn't want to view sigs mate, can simply switch them off.
